Getting into the car was quite a pain to say the least. You had this giant bag on and your poor mother and her tiny car could barely fit your two giant suitcases. But finally, you were in the car and staring out the window waiting for your mother to talk. You knew she would go on a long rant about how stressful it is for her with you being away from home. She'd been like that ever since you and your brother were little, overbearing, and frankly a helicopter parent. But she always said it was because she wanted to make sure you felt loved since she missed that as a child with her mother always working. Which you tried to understand but she was just so annoying, in the most loving way possible.

"Are you excited about all this? Going to UA I mean, it's a big step." Your mother said as she finally broke the silence.

"Yeah mom, I'm excited to meet new people and stuff like that." You said while looking at her. I bet I know what's gonna come next, how bout 'I'm just so scared that you won't be happy' or maybe something like 'I wanna make sure that you are certain with this'.

"Well I just want you to be certain you'll be happy there." Dang it I was so close.

"I'm sure I will be fine. What could possibly go wrong?" You paused for a moment before realizing she would tell you everything that could go wrong if you gave her the chance.

You spoke again before she could get out a word, "You know what that was a stupid question. Why don't we change the topic? Umm what do you think about Kei's new boyfriend?" For the rest of the drive, your mother then talked about how proud she was that her 'little' boy was finally embracing his sexuality. Then, of course, got onto the topic of you not dating anyone since your last boyfriend that was a complete bitch, but your mother used the words 'troubled'. Which you ended quickly with a different conversation starter.

Eventually, both you and your mother pulled up to the airport and your mother gave you a teary-eyed goodbye before trying to walk you through how to check your bags and go through security. Though, you ended up just cutting her off with another hug and walking away.

An eternity later you got onto your flight and sat in your seat next to the window. You got to sit in business class because of some weird upgrade you got with mileage. In the seating area you had a plug for your phone, a blanket, eye mask, and all sorts of other stuff. And since the seats were near the beginning of the plane you got a completely unobscured view of the night sky as you ascended.

I fucking wish I had some quirk that would let me see this view every day. Especially at night, when you're up this high the stars become brighter and the clouds below you look like the way happiness feels. I could cry right now. But of course, someone else had to beat you to it.

"WAAAAHHHHHHHHH" Cried a little demon child.

I swear on gods green earth I'm going to chuck that baby out of this fucking plane...Interrupting my main character moment like that you little shit.

With that, you plug in your earphones and cranked up the music so that the only thing you can hear is the sweet blissful sound of the Howls Moving Castle end song as you drifted off to sleep in your comfy rich people chair.
