When the sky cleared, dozens of people sat on the top of the container truck, looking at the barracks on the side of the road. Six large vehicles drove by slowly, leaving the scene in front of them in the distance.
The barracks was full of devastation, and a huge gap was broken in the wall. The inside was empty, and all the zombies ran out.
Meng Feng took people to bring the last remaining weapons in the barracks back to the car, filling nearly half of the container car.
Liu Yan held a small box in his hand and looked over and over. The conditions here were not sufficient, and the circuit was also wet due to heavy rain. The materials needed to be repaired in order to adjust the scene inside.
In the evening, the convoy set off again, along the road, through the Nanling Mountains and out of the province, all the way north.
"Dad, I'm going to die." In the darkness, Jue Ming's voice came.
"No." Zhang Min whispered: "Honey, the antipyretics have some side effects."
Jue Ming said, "I'm very uncomfortable..."
Zhang Min leaned against a cardboard box. It was full of flour, rice, boxes of canned food and sundries. In the narrow space, half of Lin Musen's men were separated from the outside of the cardboard box, while Meng Feng and Liu Yan were on the opposite side, and the sheltered place inside was reserved for the women.
Jue Ming was drenched in the rain all night, and started to catch a cold and have a fever. After the fever subsided, he was limp, unable to eat, and rubbed and moved uncomfortably in Zhang Min's arms.
"Drink more water." Zhang Min said, "Is it hot?"
He patted his adopted son's head, intending to distract him, and said, "Look at the thing in Liu Yan's hand, what is that?"
Shaking his head, he looked at Liu Yan on the opposite side: "Is it an alarm clock?"
Liu Yan assembled a mechanical device under the dim flashlight, which was as small as a disc.
"It's a life sign detector." Liu Yan said, "Meng Feng found it in the barracks. I adjusted it and used the temperature difference to realize the function of long-distance life fluctuation detection."
"Can you find zombies?" Meng Feng explain.
Liu Yan shook his head: "It's different from infrared technology, it can only find people, and the coverage is about three kilometers."
Zhang Min nodded and said, "Good stuff." Zhang Min didn't let go of his waist.
There are three directions for them.
One: Enter Sichuan along the Sichuan-Yunnan Highway, leave the southern region, enter the Qinghai Plateau, and go to Tibet.
Two: Take the Gansu National Highway to Xinjiang, where the weather is dry.
Three: After leaving Province H, go north all the way, bypassing the densely populated Central Plains, heading towards Inner Mongolia via Ningxia, and looking for a place to stay near Hohhot.
The more sparsely populated the place, the safer. The harsh wind and sand environment can make the zombies dry quickly, the connective tissue slowly loses its activity, the cell fluid dehydrates and evaporates, and loses the ability to move; the cold environment will help humans and freeze the zombies into ice, destroying their muscle activity.
This is Fang Xiaolei's suggestion before her death, and it is also the escape rules listed in the "Zombie Survival Manual". Liu Yan discussed with Meng Feng and others for a long time, and they felt that it was safest to enter Tibet.
