(There is a cussword in this chapter, Prof. Red says it. Not the F or the B word.)

*Professor Red*

I ran with the kid in my arms, and said kid was very confused. I can hear the leader screaming for me to come back. My grin widens as I sprint through tunnel after tunnel, arriving back at the lab.

I went inside the lab and set the child on a sofa. "Okay Sabre!" I say and watch as the kid smiles at me. "Now I can talk to you in peace."

"So Pokemon are these powerful creatures. They have a wide range attack system and different ways they act. There are multiple ways to find pokemon, such as walking through tall grass, swimming in the depths of the ocean, or flying high up in the sky! We use them in battles, contests, and performances. They help us in building and creating. But however, we usually stick to one profession which is dumb to me..."

I   watched as Sabre's eyes were wide in interest. "However, who knows how Pokemon will act around you... Since well, you don't appear to be Steve." I take out a pokeball, "However I want to test how they act around you."

The kid now seems nervous and worried. "Ah, but don't worry! We'll start with a starter, starters are beginner partners. Anyways! Meet Torchic." Out comes a small two-legged orange pokemon, it looks around before its eyes land on Sabre. It and Sabre have a stare down before it hops onto the sofa. It chirps to Sabre and the boy picks the Torchic up. He sets the Torchic down on his lap.

The door flies off its hinges right there and then. All of us jump, as Ruby stands in the doorframe, glaring directly at me. "Professor!"

"Wait Leader!" I was shoved aside as Ruby walked towards Sabre. Torchic and Sabre both look up at Ruby. He sighs and rubs the bridge of his nose.

"Are you okay Sabre?" The child smiles at Ruby's question and nods.

Sabre lifts the Torchic up to show the leader. "Chirpy!" He says as the Torchic chirps. Ruby's eyes soften before he sighs.

"Now he has a pokemon partner." I say with a small smile as Ruby turns to look at me, "I mean he's even more protected now!" Ruby turns and grabs me by the front of my shirt.

He leans and whispers, "He would've been safe without a partner as well... As long as he stays here the darkness can not escape. He will stay with us, protected from the outside and himself." He lets go of me and I stumble back. Woah, talk about overprotectiveness!

"Wait. What do you mean by that?" I question him.

"He will stay here in the Village, if he wants to explore, he'll be right outside the village with supervision at all times." Ruby says, glancing at the child who was now playing with his Torchic. "I must tell the rest, while I do so, you will watch him. He doesn't need to be overwhelmed." He turns and walks out of the lab before looking over his shoulder at me, "Don't try anything, Goggles."

I watched him leave before turning to the child who was now by my side looking up at me. "Where he going?" Sabre asks with worry.

I ruffle his hair, gaining a giggle from the boy, "He'll be right back." I take a pokeball out of my pocket and toss it, in a red light stands a red armored pokemon with what appeared to be a cannon on its back.

Sabre looks up at it with curiosity, the Torchic matching his curiosity. "This is Genesect. You stick with it, okay?" The child nods and walks over to the red pokemon, "I need to get something..." Besides, what can a small child even do?

I run to a room that is mostly empty, besides the form standing attached to a multitude of wires.

"Rotom, Porygon Z, Help me out!" I order as two pokemon, both seeming to spasm once in a while, appear.

—--------

I walk out of the room with the Assistant behind me. I returned to the main room just to find Genesect roaming around and looking everywhere; Sabre and the Torchic were nowhere to be seen.

Shit...

~While Prof.Red was in the other room~

*Sabre*

The red bug creature or what Mr. Red calls it Genesect was watching me and Chirpy's every move. Bleh, I wanna explore. So as soon as the Buggy looks away I run, Chirpy sits nestled in my hair. I let out a giggle as I heard the Buggy trill in alarm. We can play hide and seek!

After a while I stop running and I take a look around. It's very quiet, no screaming... It's not like home. I do miss Mama though... I don't miss Papa, Papa is really mean. Chirpy hops off my head. "Chirpy?" Chirpy chirps at me and I follow behind the chick. I began to put a skip in my step, slightly humming a tune; eerie but calming.

Chirpy stops and I look up at the door. "Here?" I question the bird, and it nods. "Okay..." I reached up and opened the door with a bit of struggle; I had to get on my tip toes. The door opens faster than I was planning and I fall forward. I catch myself before I fall completely, patting myself off.

Hmm? I look around the room, boxes upon boxes, broken beakers lay shattered on the floor, broken wires and machines. Huh? What happened here? I scoop Chirpy up. We shouldn't be here....

I take a step back. I don't think we should be here...

"Sabre!" I hear Mr. Red shout. I turned to see him sprinting towards me, his goggles tilted slightly. A robot was beside him, A robot! How Cool!

"Mr. Red!" I ran over to him with a wide smile.

Mr. Red mutters something under his breath. "How did you get so far from Genesect?" He asked me.

"Buggy looked away and I decided that I wanted to play Hide and Seek!" I explained, "You found me!"

He unexpectedly picks me up and holds me close. "Yes, I found you. Come along, Assistant." Walking down the hall with me in his arms, the robot follows. Robots are so cool, I wanna touch. I reach over Mr. Red's shoulder towards the robot. Mr. Red seems to notice so he holds me out to the robot. "Here."

The Assistant takes me and copies how Mr. Red was holding me, carefully though. I smile up at the two, Chirpy lays down on me and I let out a yawn. Mr. Red lets out a small laugh, "Is someone sleepy?"

"Nooo.." I draw out before another yawn escapes. My eyes start to close and I feel myself being passed back into warm arms. As Mr. Red continues to walk, I begin to be lulled to sleep. My eyes fully close and I can hear Mr. Red say one last thing.

"Goodnight Little One..."

*Prof. Red*

I'm glad I found him before Ruby returned. The kid was out cold, understandably so, he did have a very eventful day. A yawn almost escapes me as well. When was the last time I slept? Three days ago or was it five?

If the kid sleeps on the sofa he will surely wake up in pain... I'll sleep on the couch and he can sleep in my bed, after all I've slept in worse places. "Assistant, go charge yourself... Also make sure Porygon and Rotom don't try anything... as well as the ghosts." My Assistant nods and walks off.

I walk to my sleeping corridors to set the kid down on my bed but he just won't let go. Why is his grip so good? The kid grumbles at my attempts to unlatch him and I freeze, I don't wanna wake him up.

So I lay down with him close, his Torchic lays in between us. I carefully maneuver my lab coat off as well as my goggles. I tap a pokeball and out come a Gogoat, the grass type looks at me. She takes the rest of my pokeballs with her vines, and she leaves the room.

I pull the blanket over the both of us before closing my eyes.
