I refused to read the medical books in the valley.

Carrying a compass and silver money with me, I rode out of the valley for the first time.

As a sixteen year old, I saw the scenery outside of the valley for the first time.

The sky and earth were actually this wide.

However, the sea of faces was boundless and indistinct.

Where could I find my master?

After many months of fruitless searching, I headed down south.

I arrived in the kingdom's Tiandu city.

Because of the slap that master had given me, I had not dared to practice medicine again for a few months after that.

Even if he had hit me and abandoned me, his place in my heart remains as heavy as a mountain.

But I still could not understand why he was so angry.

I witnessed the extravagance of Tiandu city for the first time...

Not knowing the rules, I rode my horse all the way to the imperial palace.

I only got down from my horse when guards blocked my way with spears.

In all of my life, it had always been outsiders who pleaded me to help them.

When have I ever seen such impolite people?

I noticed an imperial poster from the corner of my eye.

I curved up the corners of my lips and casually tore it down.

Seeing the guards put down their weapons and kneel on one knee around me, I raised my proud head and started to smile.

See, now that's the treatment I should be enjoying.

I was brought to the study of the son of heaven.

I stood with my hands behind my back.

The guard behind me shouted: "Insolent, why aren't you kneeling before His Majesty?"

I snorted with disdain.

I would not kneel to anyone other than my shifu.

Why would I ever kneel to a patient who sought my help?

The son of heaven was not angered by my arrogance; he waved for the guard to back down.

It looked like he was very anxious.

The more anxious he was, the more entertaining it was to me.

He put down the jade brush in his hand, then he led me to an extremely beautiful palace chamber with haste.

Its horizontal board was inscribed with three big golden characters: Red Keep palace.

The first time that I met her, was the sight of unexpected beauty.

I could never forget it in this life and this world.

I had never seen such a beautiful woman before.

Charming and radiant, a beauty that could overthrow kingdoms and cities.

She wore a splendid and roomy palace dress.

I just needed one look to tell from her slightly stiff waist that she was pregnant.

A bump had yet to show.

It was about three to four months old.

I was not sure why, but I would always feel irked whenever I saw a pregnant woman.
