SUNGHOON watched at Jake intensely as he sat down in a bench at the police station while Jake was walking back and forth answering a phone call worriedly. There was a hint of begging in Jake's voice.
"Please, please, it won't happen again. I swear, please, miss, this is just a one time thing." Jake sighed, losing of hope from the person he's talking with. "Please, don't take this away from me. This is the only job I have."
Jake frustratedly slammed down his phone at the table in front and looked at Sunghoon with pissed off face. He brushed off his face with his palm and breathed in heavily, trying not to scream right at that moment.
Sunghoon was just guiltily staring at him. He didn't know what to do, nor what to say. He just stared at Jake trying to read what was on his mind. But clearly, he is pissed off enough at Sunghoon.
"Sunghoon!"
The both of them looked at the woman who was walking towards the police station with an angry and worried face.
"What did I tell you about going on in troubles, huh?! I've warned you enough!" She said and slapped his shoulders.
"Aw! Ouch!" Sunghoon grunted while taking in his mom's aggressive venting.
She sighed and looked at him angrily. "If this had gotten into the news, what could you have done to repair your reputation, huh? Thankfully, the officers and that man didn't charge you. But look at what's at stake here, Sunghoon. It's your future! You won't be able to participate in a tournament. God, you're not thinking!"
"I-I'm sorry, okay? I just got pissed off."
"So, is that what you do every time you're pissed off? Did I raise to be such a person, huh?"
"It's okay now, Mrs. Park. The guy actually settled it off for some money. He needed it for medication." Jake interrupted.
"Yeah, serves him right."
"As if he didn't do you the same!" Sunghoon's mother said and rolled her eyes at him.
"My face is better than how he ended up, though. And my face looks better."
"Can you please shut up?" Jake asked Sunghoon, annoyed.
Sunghoon looked at Jake who's now annoyingly looking at through his phone. His back is down ever since the call earlier.
"Mom, can you please go ahead first? We'll just have a talk. I'll go after you." Sunghoon asked his mom who immediately agreed to him.
"Alright, go ahead."
Sunghoon walked towards Jake and placed his hand on his back but he just shrugged it off. He observed how Jake was acting.
Jake looked at him and pushed him back through his chest with a creased brows.
"You should've thought about what would happen first before you did all those things. Look, look at what you've done!" Jake frustratingly sighed.
"I'm sorry. Can you tell me what happened with the call?"
Jake closed his eyes shut. "I'm fired! I got fired. All because of what you did with that man who did nothing but helped me, Sunghoon!"
Sunghoon looked at him guiltily, afraid of the words he should say because he might not take it in a good way. He didn't want to add up to Jake's frustration now, but seeing as how it's looking currently, surely, he's making it all worse for Jake.
"I'm sorry. I'm so sorry." Sunghoon started to apologize while looking at Jake's bloodshot eyes. "I'll pay you, Jake. You don't have to work for anything anymore."
