Sunghoon have never stepped his foot inside Jake's house even before. He didn't know what to expect coming in. Even if he's now Jake's boyfriend, him seeing his boyfriend's house outside was just enough for him.
Now that Sunghoon's inside Jake's house and glaring at him whenever his mother was out of their sight, he can't help himself but feel anxious and nervous with every death stare he receives
One of the reasons why Sunghoon is looking at him so badly was because he didn't answer any of his phone calls when he did last night. And even his texts, he didn't put up a replies to it and just stared at his phone and his messages all night.
"Tadah! Come, come, eat up."
Jake's mom excitedly placed all the food he prepared for the night at the table.
"Don't be shy, Sunghoon, okay? You can always treat me like a mom. Fill up your stomach while you're here." She smiled so sweetly at them. Not knowing what was behind her son and his friend's history.
"Thank you Mrs. Sim! These all look soooo good! Did you cook all of these on your own? You should've asked me for help."
"Oh no, sweetheart, it's okay. I enjoy cooking by myself. But thank you for offering. Now, hurry up and eat while it's still warm, okay?"
"Thank you for the food!"
They all started to gobble up the food while Jake's grandmother was beside his mom and both of them are beside each other in a square shaped dining table.
"Oh, by the way, Sunghoon. How are you acquainted with my son, Jake?"
"Oh," Sunghoon glanced at Jake and breathed out profusely. "He's my 'classmate'... and we've been pretty much been like that since elementary."
Jake flinched after hearing Sunghoon emphasizing the word he used to describe Sunghoon. He's damn mad at him for not telling his mother and not being honest with what both of them have for each other.
"Oh, really?!"
She stared at him for a moment and was suddenly enlightened by a thought.
"I remember you!"
"Yes?" Sunghoon asked, confused. He's not really familiar with the lady but of course, he knew about her from words around.
"You're the kid Jake would always get a fight with back when you were just kindergartens!" She laughed while reminiscing the past. "Oh, how days have gone so fast."
"I remember fighting with him as a kid too, Ma'am. Well, we still do now but not like child fights."
"I know, I know." She chuckled. "Both of you look so grown. You're far from looking like my babies anymore. I miss those times." She said and frowned.
"You were always fighting back then, throwing things at each other, even dragging each other's hair and writing on each other's shirts." She giggled. "I guess, time would really make friendship."
"Yes, it does... even more than that." Sunghoon whispered the last words then glanced at Jake who's face is flushing.
"Oh, now that we're talking about the past, Sunghoon-ah. I'm certain I've seen your mother before. How is she? Your family? Oh, we would always apologize to each other before because our sons would cause so much trouble in the school."
After the dinner, Jake's mom left them together in his room while she was busy tending to Jake's nana and sleeping afterwards.
His house wasn't that small compared to what everyone might expect coming from a working student like him. It was his parent's old house when they still used to live in Korea. But now, the house will be up for sale in the market.
