(Starry's pov)

Another day of school, another day of misery. I've always hated this place. I feel like I've been here all my life, yet I can't remember a lot about it. I guess I just have feelings of it, It's not really important though. I walked through the school and straight to my locker, like always I put some of my stuff in the locker and take some stuff out. One of the things I took out was my phone, I don't have any friends to text, so I just scroll through some apps while walking around.

I was fiddling around with my phone then suddenly I get knocked down. "What the fuck?" I yell at whoever shoved me. "Oh! I'm sorry! Are you okay? I was running from something... I don't know what though..." I look up and see a... lemur? Skunk? Something like that. "Um... Here let me help you up!" The lemur/skunk held out it's hand waiting for me to grab it. "I don't need your help." I get up on my own shooing that thing's hand away. "Don't you look at where you're going?" I give a stern look to them. "Well technically you were the one not looking." They point to my phone on the ground, I pick it back up. "You people and those government tracking devices..." They rolled their eyes. "What?? Dude who and what even are you???" I say to them so confused. "I'm the realist raccoon you'll ever fuckin meet man." They say shooting finger guns at me. I honestly thought he was a fish. "Okay... I'm going to get away from you now." I walk away from them, but I somehow felt them watching me.

Later, it was lunch. I was eating an ice sandwich but still felt someone watching, I look around and see nothing at first but- ... I heard someone fall behind me. I look at who it was, and I see that same raccoon lying in a bush. "Yeouch man.." He opened his eyes and saw me. "Uhhhh heyyy!! buddy!! What are you doing out here??" He gets up and brushes some leaves off of him. "What the fuck are you doing?? Are you watching me??" I yell at him. He scoffs and rolls his eyes again. "Pfff, me? Stalking you? Haha! Don't be so vain, I was uhh... Watching that guy!" He points at a lamppost. "That's not even- Ugh. Dude just, what do you want?" I look super annoyed at him now. "I don't want anything from you! I'm hiding! From them!" This guy is so fucking weird. "Who are you hiding from... Oh, let me guess, the government?" I say sarcastically. "How did you know!?! You must be a psychic! Get away from me!" The raccoon got some tin foil out of his pocket and put it on his head. This guy is definitely insane. "I'm not a psychic, and I will absolutely get away from you because you should be in a mental hospital." I started walking away from him.

"Hey, hey, hey! Now!" He hops over the bench I was sitting at and runs towards me. "Listen, I may think the government is always watching and out to get anyone who does something wrong but that doesn't mean I'm insane!" He placed his hands onto his chest. "I'm sure you're not just insane, but you also suffer from multiple mental disabilities!" I say in a fake enthusiastic voice. Why can't this guy just leave me alone? He has to have something wrong with him. I start walking away from him again. "Wow. Okay. Rude much? I tried being nice to you and all..." Nice? Seriously?! You have to be joking. I turn back to look at him in the eye. "You literally started stalking me because I use a phone. You call that nice?" "Well technically-" I cut him off by punching him across the face.

I got detention and we both got sent home early. He was stalking me and only I got detention? This fucking school. "Star, I don't get why you have these anger issues! I taught you to be nice your entire life and it all goes to waste!" My mother yells at me as we drive home, she didn't teach me to be nice at all. She taught me to shake people's hand and not point at strangers. "I remember when you were just so nice to everyone.." Wow. I wonder when that was. Seriously I don't remember anything before today. What happened? Probably not important.

We get home and I immediately go to my room and fall asleep. Better to be in my dreams than in reality! As I drift off to sleep, I see flashing lights and sirens, maybe the neighbors got the cops called on them again? No... these sirens were really loud. Like the entire world could hear them, I get up to see what it's about but fall back down on my bed, yet it wasn't my bed? It was a pile of ash and rock. I try to get up again, but it was like a force kept me from rising. I tried to look around but saw nothing but red, like the world was completely destroyed or something. I close my eyes again, it just felt right to do, then I was back in my bed. There was no force keeping my down, so I got up, by now it was almost midnight. I go to the kitchen cause, of course, I was hungry. I see my mom cooked lasagna, so I grab a piece and microwave it, I really wonder what that dream was about... it felt, somewhat familiar?

The microwave beeps, I grab the piece of lasagna out and head back to my room. I couldn't stop thinking about that dream, it felt so real, like it was a memory of some kind. I sit back down onto my bed, eat my lasagna and go back to sleep. Hoping not to have that dream again. My alarm goes off and I spring awake, I turn it off and start getting ready for school. As I left my room i could see a small note on the kitchen counter, It was from mom. It read: "I had to get to work early today, so you'll have to walk to school. But I found your old skates so I figured you could use these to get there faster." I look down and see a pair of rollerblades, seriously? I put on the skates because, well how else am I gonna get to school? I walk out the house and start skating, it was a lot harder since I haven't done it in a while but, I got the hang of it. I look down at my phone and scroll through some apps like always, until I suddenly hit someone. Shit, I guess that's what I get for not looking. I fall to the ground along with the other person on top of me.

"Damn-it! Fuck I'm so sorry!-" I feel the person get off of me and I look up, it's that damn fish again. Wait no, raccoon, yeah. I try to get up on my own but keep falling due to these skates, I hear him snicker and let out his hand for me to take. Reluctantly I take it and he helps me back on my feet, I look at his face and lightly gasp at the black eye I totally forgot I gave him. "What? Do I have something on my face?" He says, as if he also forgot about it. He pulls out his phone and looks into the camera, he loudly gasps at the sight of himself. "WHAT THE FUCK. When did I get this?!" He looks closer at the camera, did he actually forget? "Uhm... You don't know how you got that?" I question, wait. Didn't he also say phones were "Government tracking devices"? "No dude! I mean, I may have gotten it in my sleep but, I probably would've woken up from it!" He says while putting his phone away, I decided not tell him what really happened cause, obviously.

"Ugh, anyways. Where are you off to? I could help walk you there!" Wow okay, this guy seriously doesn't remember me. "Uh.. school?" I say as he quickly grabs my hand and starts dragging me to school, presumably. "I'm going there too! Were like the same person!" Yeahh sure. Later, we make it to school and let's me go at the front gates. "Well it was nice hangin out with you! Oh wait! What's your name again?" Did I ever tell him my name? Probably not. "It's Starry." I say, "Cool! I'm Ai, I'll see you later Star!" Already calling me by a nickname, awesome. I make my way to class and remember I have detention later, this day just keeps getting better and better!
