My Girl bestfriend

My heart beats fast, I cannot deny
As I look at her with longing in my eye
My girl best friend, so short and not so perfect
But to me, she's beautiful, her long hair so perfect

She's like a rose, so lovely and sweet
Her poetry, a work of art, so complete
Her words, they touch my soul, make me feel alive
I can't help but fall for her, I cannot hide

But alas, she likes someone else, someone not me
My heart breaks, my spirit crushed, it's plain to see
I wish I could be the one to hold her close
To be her everything, the one she loves the most

But I know my place, I must accept it with grace
I'll support her, be her friend, and be in my own space
For even if she doesn't feel the same way
My love for her, will never fade away.
