Mascot Mayhem!

Chapter 2

"Brooke!" Dad yells up the stairs, where I'm getting ready for school, "Freya's here!"
Me and Freya always walk to school together, and she always comes to get me, I'm NEVER ready early. We sometimes drop Caleb and Freya's little sisters, Molly and Lucy, off on the way, their schools right next to ours. Lucy's 8 and Molly's 10
I quickly slap on some powder, to make me look more... well... human. I'm dressed in perfect school uniform, which is black leggings, a white polo shirt with the collar tucked in, a red jumper and black daps. Okay, maybe not so perfect. My hair is tied up into a lose ponytail, I hate it getting in the way in school, I can't see my work.
I quickly grab my yellow, Winnie the Pooh bag and run downstairs, "Sorry, overslept again" I grin, seeing Freya sitting on the sofa playing with Caleb and Amelia
"Yet again" she huffs, but then grins back
"Bye Lia, bye dad, BYE HAILS" I say, giving them all a kiss, but yelling up to Hailey, who's still in bad, it was dad's turn to get us up today, "come on Cal"
He grabs his Spider-Man bag and runs out the door, while me and Freya run after him. "BYE GUYS" dad yells followed by a little yell "bubaii Book, bubaii Cayweb, bubaii Fweya!" Which was obviously Amelia.

We make it to school just in time, after a lunchbox mishap with Caleb. I do to see why he doesn't have school dinners! Anyway, we rush into form, where there's a big commotion of people. Me and Freya run through them all, to a little hidden corner at the back, where we plonk our bums down. No one else knows about this little secret hideout, I mean, it's completely out of site. (We found it in year 7 when I fell of the chair). Well, no one but Will. Will has no other friends, so he started to follow me round. Not just at school. Everywhere. He literally stalks me. I guess it's annoying, but he won't give up his "precious time spent planning everywhere I go". Oh god, talk of the devil.
"HI!" Will shouts, sticking his head round the corner," you went a different way to school today, I had to change all my plans and run from the big oak tree on the end of the road ALL THE WAY to the park!"
No wonder he looks like a tomato.
"Will, we're friends now. Just walk to school with us instead of hiding in a tree every 10 metres!" I say laughing, "we had to take my brother to school"
"Really?! You'd let me walk to school with you?!" He says, shocked
"Yes" I glance at Freya, " you can hang out with us in school too, but just no more stalking?"
"Um-er- OKAY!" He yells excitedly, then looks behind him, "Miss just came in, come on"
We crawl out of the tiny gap and sit down at our desk at the back of the class which we share. Will sits down at the desk in front.
"Good morning!" Miss Rees screeches in her extraordinary high voice
"Good morning Miss Rees" our class mumble quietly, as miss sits down to do the register
"Psst... Brooke" Will 'whispers', "have you done your maths homework?"
I nod silently
"Cool" he says then turns back around.
I see no point in conversations like that, but that's just Will. Freya looks at me and shakes her head while giggling, and I scowl at her.

"Seen Freya?" I ask Will as I leave my last lesson of the day, French. Freya doesn't do French, she does Spanish instead.
"Nope. She ran out of Spanish as soon as the bell went!" He says
"Probably gone to find her coat. She left it in Maths last week when it was pouring that morning. Still hasn't got it back" I said laughing
I turn my phone on and see 4 missed calls from Freya. Something's up. I ring her back as soon as we get outside.

"Frey? Are you okay?!"

"Yeah why?"

"You rang me four times!!"

"Oh yeah. Once to tell you I'm going to find my coat, then to tell you I'm going to see Mr Francis after I've found it. I'm not doing too great in Welsh at the moment. Then a third time to tell you that we're seeing One Direction tomorrow, and fourth to tell you to answer your phone"

"Seriously Frey? I know we're seeing One Direction tomorrow, how could I forget? And that last one, wow."

"Anyway, I found my coat and I've seen Mr F, so I'm ready"

"Wait Frey, I can see you ya plonker. Come to the front gates dumbo"

Then I hang up. Freya can be so stupid at times. Like right now. She's running like superman with her coat on her head. And there she goes, falls over her bag, smack on her face. I run over to help her up.
"Woops?" She says giggling

This is one of those days.

"Hello? Anybody home?" I yell as I shut the door
"BOOK!" Amelia yells and runs up to me with Caleb
"Hi princess" I say to her picking her up and high diving Caleb, "Hi awesome dude. Where's mummy?"
"Here I am B" Hailey says. She gave me that nickname ages ago
"Your One Direction stuff came" she says pointing upstairs
"YASSSSSSS" I yell, and run up the stairs, Amelia giggling
I ordered a load of stuff with my leftover Christmas money from 7 months ago. There's a massive brown box in the middle of my room, which fills almost a quarter. Amelia leaps on the bed like the daredevil she is and then sits silently, waiting for me to open the box.
I rip open the box, that used up all my energy, and start taking everything out. The contents of the box were:
•a black hoodie with a One Direction picture and blue writing
•a black One Direction SnapBack with a blue peak
•a smaller version of the hoodie (Amelia begged and begged)
•a loose, short black top with 'One Direction' written on it
•a load of One Direction bands/ bracelets
•and more posters for my wall

I start screaming and Amelia joins in. I'm so happy I could jump all the way to the moon. I knock on my wall once, which means 'come over right now' I'm mine and Freya's knock language that we made up years ago. Five minutes later, I hear the front door open then slam, then a rushed "Hi Hailey, hi Caleb!" Then she falls up the stairs. Only Freya would do that.
"FREY MY STUFF CAME" I yell as she finally gets into my room
"OMG SO DID MINE" she yells, just a teeny bit louder than me
"Shhhhhhhhhhhhhhh" Amelia whispers, covering her ears
"Sorry Meels" I say giggling, "I'm so excited now!! Sleep over tonight?"
"Sureeeeeeee" Freya says and we both turn into fan girls again, much to Amelia's 'delight'

Tomorrow is going to be AMAZING!
