I came to your house one day and your cat stole my shoes
I almost walked out the door before you told me the news
"I'm sorry, but my cat has stolen your shoes."
And you offered to help me look, how could I ever refuse
When you grabbed my hand, I think it was love I found
In that moment I realized, it's you I want around
Though I know it's a game, I let you guide me up the stairs
And for a moment I prayed to god in heaven (if he's really up there)
You peek a corner and exclaimed, "The cat went that way."
I could care less about the damn shoes but its another moment I can stay
At some point I think, I don't know how long I can keep up this charade
That all I want is to grow old with you, under your porch's shade
