'take this honey'

his mom placed a small package in his hand.

'open it when you need a boost, ok?' she whispered. taehyung nodded.

'take my hand.' taehyung placed his hand in hers.

'i promise, no bad will come to you, ok bear?' a tear fell down taehyung's face as he nodded.

she placed a gentle kiss on his forehead. she let out a harsh cough as she laid her head back down on the pillow.

'i love you, for all time. always.'

'i-i l-love you t-too, for all time. a-always.'

suddenly a long beep was heard. it rang through taehyung's ears as her grip and taehyungs hand loosened.

'mom?' no response.

'mom!'

taehyung sat up swiftly breathing heavily. he recalled the dream he had and he started to cry silently. there soon was a pounding on his door and he quickly wiped his tears.

"taehyung! get your ass up! you have work to do!"

he got out of his bed, his bare feet coming in contact with the cold floor. he shivered and quickly picked out an outfit. he put on a white t-shirt and some brown pants. he stepped down the stairs and out of his room where it was warm. he flew down the stairs and into the kitchen. he heard alex and darla talking at the island.

"and then this other guy asked me out. he's a jock and he's really cute, but like he is kinda mean and doesn't focus on his grades. so who should i go out with?"alex said.

"well both of them are good, but whatever one you don't choose, set up with me." darla spoke.

taehyung walked into the kitchen. he opened a cupboard and grabbed a glass. he filled it up with water at the fridge. he took a long swig.

"um, taehyung. aren't you gonna ask up what we want for breakfast?" alex asked.

"what would you two like for breakfast?" he sneered.

"i want homemade pancakes with blueberries and whipped cream," darla ordered.

"and i want two croissants with chocolate inside with a side of eggs and bacon." alex said.

taehyung nodded tiredly and grabbed an apron off a hook and put it over his head. he took out all of the ingredients and started to cook.

after about 20 minutes he was done and the twins were eating. he was about to sit down on the couch to have a break when grayson called him.

"taehyung, get to cleaning the floors!"

taehyung groaned and got up. he grabbed a bucket and a mop when grayson walked into the room.

"there are scuff marks on the floor, you need to do it with a rag." he said, snatching the mop out of his hand.

taehyung sighed and grabbed an old rag from a small basket. he filled the bucket with soapy water and got to cleaning. as he scrubbed the floors he heard grayson talking to alex and darla.

"the jeons are having a ball in a couple of weeks. they are looking for a partner for their son. you two will be going. the ball is up in the cities, it's about an hour drive."

"i get to go to a ball and meet the jeon jungkook?" alex squealed.

"yes, you will need to go shopping for your outfits. I'll give you each a budget of 2,500 dollars."

taehyung walked up to the group of them.

"g-grayson, do you think i could go?" taehyung asked.

alex and darla scoffed.

"i don't know. we'll see how you are acting these next weeks." he said irritably.

taehyung quickly nodded and got back to cleaning.

by the time taehyung was done cleaning all of the floors, his fingers were pruney. he put away his supplies and went into the living room. soonjun was sitting on the couch reading a newspaper.

"grayson?"

he peered at taehyung.

"yes?"

"i-i'm going to head out, t-to work." he lied.

"mk." he said.

with that taehyung slipped out of the house. he walked down the streets of the small town, oakheart, named after the oak trees that formed a heart at the edge of town. he greeted everyone he knew, which was everyone. he walked down the sidewalk to a small garden. he opened the gate and entered. he looked around for a familiar face. he found it in a corner tending to some marigolds.

"hey, ray." taehyung called,

"taehyung!" raynia yelled.

the old woman got up and walked over to taehyung.

"you need any help with your garden today?"

"ah, yes. your mother's daisies are starting to wilt."

"on it."

taehyung walked to the daisies. he saw a familiar wooden sign he carved with his mother.

'deiji's daisies'

he smiled and grabbed a watering can. he filled it up with the hose and sprinkled water on them. just like magic, the drooping flowers stood tall and proud. he smiled and walked around watering other plants that needed it.

"hey, raynia, did you hear about the ball that the jeon's are throwing?"

"no, tell me more."

taehyung told her what he knew.

"grayson said i might be able to go!"

"that's great, taehyung!"

"yeah, i'm thinking of making my own dress. speaking of that, i need to go get the fabric to make one."

"well, i won't hold you back! have a great day, tae!"

"you too, ray. sorry to leave so suddenly."

"it's quite alright."

taehyung smiled an left the garden and made his way to the local fabric shop. he opened the door and greeted the man at the counter.

"hey, mr. sing!"

"hey, taehyung. how are you?"

"i'm doing good, how are you doing?"

"same old, same old. getting older is rough. and, call me silas."

"sorry, silas. but hey, your in your 60s and i'd say your holding up well. i've seen the way raynia looks at you, you still got it."

mr. sing chuckled with a slight blush.

"lookin' for anything specific today?" he asked.

"yeah, um, some light pink fabric and white. oh, and throw in some lace please."

"comin' right up."

silas left and soon came back with rolls of fabric. taehyung paid and thanked him. he walked back home and snuck inside. he tip-toed up the stairs and placed the fabric next to his dress mannequin. he climbed onto his bed and immediately started to design his dress in his sketchbook.
