Celeste's p.o.v.

"Oh no. WALLY!" I dropped the dish. "No... NO!" I ran to the door. My hand shaking, the anxiety coursing through me. "What's happening?" I fell to the floor, fear stopping me where my legs collapsed. "Wally... what's happening to you?" I cried, I couldn't do anything. If I walked over to his house now in the middle of the night they'll find out! The tears burning down my face, I waited. I could still hear his prayers. "If I go over now," I mumbled, " than I can't save him in the future." I looked around. "Maybe he left something that I could give back?" I slowly got up. I looked around, but I couldn't find anything that he might have left behind. "Damn it Wally, for once in your life could you be a little careless?" Looking as I found nothing. My heart sank as I sat in the chair. Lord, give me the strength to save him, I prayed.  I looked over at the time. 10:35 was when it started, and now it's almost 10:45. I listened for his prayers but they seemed to have stopped. I got up and looked in the mirror. "Come on y/n, you've got to play the part. You aren't supposed to know." I say, splashing cold water on my face. I sighed. "I'll visit him in the morning...." Looking at the counter, "Apple bread might be his thing" I mumbled, heading up the stairs. I tucked myself into bed, but the thought of him being in so much agony wouldn't leave. He's been praying to me for so long, so what the hell is going on? The thought drifting me to sleep.

Wally's p.o.v.

I shook, the pain coursing through me as home let me go.

"Go to sleep now child."

"Yes sir" I say, slowly getting up.

"And what have you learned?"

"She shall get better verbal treatment, but physical treatment not. The shall receive the same friendly treatment as the others"

"Good boy, will you remember that?"

"Yes sir"

"Will you get out of line?"

"No sir"

"Good. Rest now, and leave me be"

I nodded. I walked up the stairs to my room, shaking from the beating. No marks visible of course, but the reminder still stands. I looked at the mirror, looking at the marks on my chest and stomach. I turned, looking at my back. The red marks showing another story. I looked at my arms and legs. No marks as always but the pain was still there. Celeste can't know about this. She needs to be kept in the dark, she needs too be mine. The thought making me determined. No matter the cost. I slept, the pain making me numb. The sleep consumed me.

The morning came up too quickly. I sighed, quickly smelling something sweet. I sat up a little, is Poppy baking something? I swung my legs out of bed, putting on a button shirt instead of my Cossack. The weather would be a little warmer than yesterday, so I wore my lighter robes today.

A knock came to the door.

"Coming!" I said finishing getting ready.

I opened the door and there stood Barnaby. Huh, I was expecting Celeste, she might be sleeping still.

"Good morning follower Barnaby! How are you this morning?" I said putting on my best smile.

"I'm doing just dandy Father Wally! I came to ask about your date! I know you've been getting to know the new neighbor, but still, the only person who's seen him was Howdy!" He said too happily.

My face darkened a little with his comment, but it went back to its smile. "Of course you will be meeting her soon, I'll have her join the choir practice today! I think she'll be an excellent fit!"

"Hooray! You hear that Celeste?" He said enthusiastically as he stepped to the side.

There stood Celeste with a basket at hand. "Uhm, hahaha yes I heard Barnaby! I'm excited!" She blushed.

Oh pickles.
