I don't exactly have a stereotype of Chara being masculine and Frisk being feminine or vice versa, even though every time I type Frisk's name I always use she/her pronouns subconsciously and I have to go fix it later. Still, I see them as human beans and give them the same amount of angst (even though Frisk is shown in the game most of the time happy and Chara has an actual good canon backstory, I'm going to mix some fanon in with it too later 😉), though Chara seems more confident and Frisk is shyer.
Chara's POV
I seem to be able to read Frisk's thoughts because of the soul, and I'm already starting to see that Frisk is homesick for another human. So am I, I guess, but Frisk is different from the humans I know on the surface, and I guess I like them... but I don't know if they like me...oh crap. Frisk can read my thoughts. I try to distract Frisk with some history of what happened.
"You know why you can't mention any timelines? Well, the last time I did that, the code became unstable and we glitched out. Thank goodness that dog reset. Toriel cannot know about the timelines. The only people who know are me, you, Azzy, Alyphys, Sans, and... well, the creepy guy. You know him. I think his name was Gaster or something."
Frisk asks, "Why am I missing a fourth of my soul? And shouldn't you be like, dead or something?"
"Um, I need to show you something. Promise you won't get mad at me?"
"Why would I get mad at you? So far, you haven't done anything wrong, and I know you just wanted peace."
Chara showed their quarter of Frisk's soul.
"What?! You stole my soul?"
"Look, I want to help with the last run, and I also want to reunite with my family."
"Ok, I'll allow it. But what do you mean by the last run?"
"I can't reset any more. We've got to make it pacifist, even Flowey doesn't want it genocide or neutral. Now sleep, Toriel will be done with the pie."
"But what about you? There's only one bed."I also realize this but reply,
"I'll sleep on the floor. It's kind of where I belong, heh. I've hit rock bottom so many times that people call me Satan. It's cool though, people call you a literal demon. It's f-f-fine." Flashbacks of the timelines. The Judgement Hall. Killing Mom and Papyrus and Undyne and Mettaton and Muffet and Sans. God. Dammit. Tears stream down my cheeks.
"Chara, it's okay! I forgive you! We all forgive you." That was true, but I didn't care.
"THE ONLY FUCKING REASON EVERYONE FORGAVE ME IS THAT EVERYONE FORGOT WHEN I RESET!"
Frisk got up and sat down next to me, still sobbing uncontrollably. Great, I showed weakness. But they just sat down and hugged me. I've never felt this feeling before. Only when I'm playing catch with Dad, or cooking with Mom. She talked to me about what this is. "You humans as well as us monsters all have a feeling. This...is this...happiness? No, it can't be!
"You do know I can read your thoughts, right?"
I. Forgot. Dammit.
"It's fine, I'm happy too."
"Oh, shut up!" I giggled. "Save your flirting for Papyrus!"
"You better get in with me, you little furry. Stop binging Mew Mew."
"Is this just because you're cold?"
Dead silence. For 10 whole seconds.
"N-no, it's because...well..."
I started reading Frisk's thoughts and...
"Hold on...you...like me?"
Frisk started shuffling uneasily.
"Oh thank god! I liked you too! Well, I don't know how serious this is, we can figure it out tomorrow, but can I come in with you?"
A sigh of relief and a smile. "Come in, Chara. After all, I CHARAbout you a ton!"
The bed's a twin size, so there is not much room in between. Frisk pulls me down toward my feet (Frisk is a bit shorter than me) and brushes my hair softly.
"Chara?"
"Yeah?"
"C-c-can I..."
"Well, spit it out, stutter mouth."
"Can I cuddle with you?"
I blushed and turned away.
"God, that was a stupid question. I'm s-"
"It's fine, you can."
"Really?"
Frisk snuggles in with me, their heat warming me.
"Goodnight..."
"Frisk... I Lo-"
They were already asleep.
