Raven and Sam had been dating for two months. They were very happy. All their friends were happy for them. This weekend Raven was taking Sam home to Mari. This was a big step in the relationship for Raven. Raven was changing in the Women's Locker Room. There was a knock on the locker room door. Britt answered it when she came back she was holding a bouquet of roses.

"You got roses Raven." She said.

"Thanks." She took them and opened the card. It read.

I can't wait for this weekend. I love you. - Sam

Raven smiled.

After she finished dressing Raven went to Sam's locker room. When she walked in she didn't see him.

"Honey?" She called.

"I'm doing my paint." He called from the bathroom.

"I love the roses." "Thank you."

"You're welcome." He came out two minutes later.

She kissed him on the cheek without paint. "I love you."

"I love you too."

"When I talked to my nonna today, all she talked about was us coming this weekend."

"I'm looking forward to it to."

"So am I."

"I am a little nervous though."

"There's nothing to be nervous about."

That Friday evening Raven and Sam had just gotten to Mari's house. As soon as they walked in they could smell food cooking.

"We're here nonna." Raven said.

"Kitchen." Mari said. They went into the kitchen. "Hi."

"Hi." They hugged.

Mari looked at Sam. "I've never seen you without face paint." "That side is just as handsome."

"Thank you." Sam said.

"Nonna are you making your homemade lasagna? Raven asked.

"Yes." "It will be ready in twenty minutes."

Raven looked at Sam. "You'll love nonna's lasagna."

"Can I help with anything?" Sam asked nonna.

"No but thanks for offering." Mari said.

They were at the table. Sam took his first bite.

"This sauce is delicious." Sam said.

"Thank you." Mari said.

"What's in it?"

"It's a secret family recipe."

The next morning Sam got up to make breakfast for everyone. Raven was still asleep. As Sam was mixing ingredients in a bowl for pancakes, Mari came into the kitchen.

"You don't have to make breakfast Sam." She said.

"I want to." "Mari I want you to know that Raven means everything to me." "I love her."

"I know you do." "I see the way you look at her."

"Before she wakes up, I would like to talk to you about something very important."
