Months passed by and Alex and I became best friends. It turns out he moved here, California, from Ohio. His parents were big shot lawyers that couldn't live in their small town so they moved for their jobs. Alex, unlike them, wanted to become an artist. His drawing were amazing. He had natural talent and I told him so every day. Finally I convinced him to try out in a state art competition. Today he would find out whether he got in or not.
"Sky, come I'm not that good and you know it," he pouts.
"Stop trying to get me to compliment you. You're like the next Da Vinci!"
"Well it worked, didn't it?" He laughs as I push him away.Throughout the year, I developed a crush on him. Fine ... it's a little bit more than just a crush. I think I love him. But I'm not the only one. Angie seems to have her eye out for him. I guess I'll find out tonight. That reminds me! Tonight is prom. Alex and I are going as friends and he's picking me up. I know he will probably ask Angie out but it can hurt to look my best.
I put on a strapless grey dress that look like a stormy sky, and heels to match. They aren't big, only 3 inches, but they definitely differ from my normal attire. I put on some makeup, but not too much because I wouldn't change that much. Finally, I decide to put on blue contacts. I want everyone to see me like a person, at least tonight. Besides, blue eyes just so happen to match my long blond hair.
Just as I grab my bag from my bed I hear the doorbell ring. I open it to find Alex looking more handsome than ever. His dark hair was gelled to look spiky, but his blue eyes still held than kind look that I've come to love. But, after daydreaming I realize he is frowning at me.
"What's wrong? Is it my makeup? I knew I should have put on -"
I am cut off by his outburst. "What happened to your eyes?"
"It's prom and wanted to look nice. Maybe tonight I wouldn't be a freak, and you wouldn't be the freak's beat friend."
"What are you talking about? I love your eyes! They make you special!"
I try to argue, but he doesn't let up so I just go and take off the contacts. When I get in his car I automatically see a corsage in his car.
"Who's the corsage for?" I ask.
"Someone special," he replies with a dreamy look.Realizing that he obviously didn't mean me, I felt my heart break. But I smiled anyway.
"Let's go we're gonna be late," I simply point out.<Should I make Alex and Skylar a couple? Comment below!>
