Lucia POV

I wake up in a dark, dingy motel room with a splitting headache. I look around and see some generic white dude in bed next to me and then the memories of my graduation party kick in. Damn, I've never had worse sex in my life, I think as I remember how quickly the guy whose name is too unimportant to remember was in and done. He looks happy, wish I could say the same. I gather my clothing and begin to head out. I grab a leftover 6-pack from the motel mini-fridge before I leave, as well as his wallet. I can't fucking wait to head back to the Owl House. I didn't want to leave but Eda's only demand for me to stay there was for me to finish school in the human realm. At least she let me switch counties...

???: "Hey!!! My wallet!!!"

Damn it, I guess he's a light sleeper. I sprint out of the hotel and into my car while he's still putting pants on. I'm out of there before he clears the motel exit. I speed all the way back home, taking my car through the portal too. It's easier to find parking and it's a great attention grabber for Eda's shop. I park and head into the house.

Eda: "Hey kiddo, how was graduation?"

Me: "It was alright, not much happened."

Eda: "Did your- did your mother make an appearance by any chance?"

Me: "You are my mother and no, Camilla did not make an appearance."

Eda: "Just wanted to make sure kiddo, I heard she might've showed up."

Me: "From who?"

Eda *Blushes slightly*: "An old friend who owed me a favor."

I raise my eyebrow at her.

Eda: "Anyways... you should probably go unpack your stuff and get some sleep."

Me: "Its 10:30, I just woke up."

Eda: "I can see your newest victim's wallet in your pocket and the 6-pack in your car. I know what a high school graduation is like."

Now its me that colors (albeit of embarrassment rather than affection) and I do what she says.

Time skip 3 months

Amelia POV

I wake up to repeated screams in my room. I hate my alarm. I sit up, grab the clock, and chuck it into the wall where it shatters into a dozen pieces. As the grogginess leaves me, I remember what today is, and get really excited. Today is my first day at Hexide University, the most favored college in the Ribs. I practically skip over to my closet and start putting together my outfit for the day, eventually deciding on a black leather jacket over a white crop top, a black jean-skirt, black leggings, black leather knee-high boots, and fingerless gloves. I style my hair and make an appointment to get it re-dyed after I notice how exposed my brown roots are, mom would kill me. I grab my suitcases, hop on my staff, and fly off before my mother notices that I'm awake. I can't believe I'm finally free from her everyday control, college is gonna be the perfect new start for me. I arrive at the campus perfectly on time, as always, and start heading over to the administration office. Campus is even more beautiful than I was told about. The entire campus is carved into the side of a mountain with mountains to the south and south-west, plains to the north, and the rest surrounded by forest. There are 3 different natural waterfalls part of campus. Three. And the school is over 2000 years old. I arrive at administration after thoroughly admiring the campus.

Receptionist: "Name"

Me: "Amelia Blight"

Receptionist: "Room 69"
