This is something I came up with randomly, not really sure where or why. It definitely needs some work but I'm open to suggestions. Mmmmkk, Thanks Loves!
So let me get something straight. I'm not normal. Far from it, actually. Don't get me wrong, there's nothing wrong with me, it's just complicated. My name is Ryan Tor. I'm 17 years old, and I am currently in the highest security juvenile detention center in the world. I'm in here because I hacked into the security system and tried to clear out my twin brother Blake's criminal records. My best friend sold me out, saying it was her "moral obligation" to turn in anyone who breaks the law. I hate her for it. Just because her dad is on the council she thought it was her "civil duty" to turn me in. That's the not the only reason I'm here. I'm here because I know something that the government is afraid to release to the public. That's part of the reason they locked up Blake, and it's the reason my older brother, Drew, is dead.
I haven't seen my parents or my younger sister since they took me. The facility they put me in doesn't allow visitors. It's been a month since my arrest. They haven't let me see Blake yet. Blake's been here for almost a year. I know that most kids have been here longer. The thing with this place is that they don't give you a sentence. You're here until you turn 19,then a panel of judges reviews your crimes and other misconducts and decides whether you live or die. There's really no reason for the deliberation from the judges, since anyone and everyone in here is almost always sentenced to death. They just do it for show, to appease the public.
The cell next to mine belongs to a boy named Sam. He's my age, and he's in here for drug dealing. His family was struggling, his older sisters and both of his parents were forced to take double shifts and multiple jobs, and it still wasn't enough. So Sam did what he had to, and it helped for a while, until he got caught. He's been here for 6 months now. He was arrested with his best friend, Dominic. I'm pretty sure the only reason they're still sane is because they have each other. They're like brothers, they're so close.
I heard footsteps approaching, then my cell door slid open. "Prisoner 384, turn and face the wall." I groaned and hopped off of bed, well cot really, and looked at the wall.
"Hands behind your back." I complied, and felt the familiar cold of the handcuffs.
"Where are you taking me?" I demanded, as they walked me out of my cell. They didn't answer. I sighed and continued walking. We stopped outside a large orange door on the top floor of the building. They unlocked my handcuffs and shoved me inside, slamming the door shut.
"Hey!" I shouted, banging against the door.
"Hello Ryan."
I whirled around in surprise, looking at a man I knew all too well.
"David." I said through my teeth. He looked at me, tilting is head slightly, and clicked his tongue.
"Oh Ryan," he said, shaking his head, "I believe it's Mr. Keller now." I closed my eyes, curling my hands into fists.
"Oh come now, did you really think you wouldn't ever see me again?" he chuckled. I glared at him.
"I hate you." I growled, "I hate you! I hate you! I hate your family! I hate all of you!"
He shook his head slowly, "Ryan, Ryan, Ryan, do you really mean that?" I nodded. He smirked slightly, "Even Kate?"
"Especially Kate!" I spat. He looked at me, amused. "I hate Kate! I hate her! I hate her, and I hate you!" I screamed.
"Ryan, let's just calm down for a minute, okay? Do you even know why you're here right now?" Mr. Keller asked. I slowly shook my head, still glaring at him. "Well, you're here because you are no longer being confined to your room. You are now free to leave your cell during breaks and eat meals with the rest of the prisoners in the mess hall." he said. "Furthermore," he continued, "You are now allowed to see your brother."
"What?" I gasped, staring at him. He nodded. "Wha-why?" I asked.
He sighed, "Because Kate asked me to."
I stood there for a moment, shocked. "Kate, but-why would she-"
"She feels horrible for what she did." Mr. Keller said.
I scoffed, "Yeah sure. She didn't seem sorry when they arrested me right in front of her!"
"She was upset." Mr. Keller said softly.
"WHY DIDN'T YOU DO ANYTHING? YOU'RE HER DAD, YOU COULD HAVE LET ME GO!" I screamed at him.
"Ryan-" he pleaded.
"Don't!" I glared at him again, "Can I go now?"
He sighed and nodded. I spun on my heel and left the room without another word. The guards met me outside, put the handcuffs back on and marched me back to my room.
I lay on my bed, staring at the ceiling for what seemed like the longest time. I heard Sam call my name several times, but I didn't respond. I didn't feel like talking. When the horn sounded that signaled for everyone to go to lunch, I sat up immediately.
Blake..I have to find Blake. I hurried down to the mess hall, looking around for any sign of my brother.
"Blake!" I called, "Blake!" I stood on a chair to get a better view. "Blake Tor!" I called again. Then I saw him. A mop of dark hair, tall and lean, sitting at a table not far off. I leaped off of my chair and started towards him.
"Blake!" I yelled, pushing past people, "Blake!" He turned his head, trying to see who was calling him. When he saw me his eyes widened and he stood up.
"Ryan?" he said in disbelief.
"Blake!" I cried, running into his arms. He stood there in shock for a moment, before wrapping his arms around me and hugging me tight. "Ryan." he mumbled into my hair. When he let me go, he looked at me. "Ryan, what are you doing here?" he asked, never letting go of my arms.
I crossed my arms. "What? You're not happy to see me?" I pouted.
"No, no of course I'm happy to see you, what I'm not happy about is seeing you here. Why are you here?" he asked again, a bit more firmly.
I sighed, "Well, if you must know, I hacked into the security system and tried to clear your records, but Kate turned me in."
"Kate?" Blake said, trying to process it. I nodded. "Kate, as in Kate Keller? Kate as in your best friend Kate?" he said.
"Well, ex-best friend now." I said. His arms were immediately around me again. "I'm sorry." he whispered in my ear. I hid my face in his chest. There was a cough from behind us.
"Hey, Blake, mind introducing us to your friend?" said one of the boys sitting at the table.
"Oh, um, yeah, guys this is my sister Ryan," Blake said.
"Your twin sister." I said, nudging him playfully.
The boys gawked at us. Blake chuckled as we watched the eyes move from me to him, and back to me again.
"How is that even possible?" one of them said.
"Believe me, I have no idea." I laughed.
I shrugged and looked at Blake. He only smiled, slung an arm around me and started walking to the line. "It's good to have you around again sis."
I smiled, "You too, B, you too."
