JANES POV:

after the group and janes family visited her, they all gave her some time to rest, after talking with max, talking with the group, and with her family. jane needed some rest.

she was laying down on her hospital bed, shocked what had happened to her.

i hate whoever did this to me. who ever it is, i'll find them one day, i swear-

"hey, honey."

i look at the door and see my mom walking up to me as she closes the door.

she sits down in the chair max was sitting in, and she looks at me with a regretful, sad, and upset expression.

"i.. i can't believe this happened to you..
i'm.. im sorry jane. i know i haven't been around much, for you and will. jonathan told me he's actually been taking care of himself.
he just didn't want to get out of his room. but he had full meals, and everything- and just..
i'm sorry that.. you and will had to depend on each other, ever since dad died..."

"mom..."

the group realizes this is a private family moment, and they all leave one by one.

"i know.. it's been hard, we're all dealing in different ways... will stays in bed.. you go outside and try to forget about it, jonathan locks himself up in his room, and i wrap my head around work. but listen to me when i say this, jane. i should've never left you guys alone-"

tears started forming in her eyes, as he tries to wipe them away.

"i know its something i would never do- i was just really scared and-"

i look at my mom, as tears are already streaming down my face.

"mom, mom. i get it, please don't cry.."

she looks at me with the most painful look ever, and he squeezes my hands gently.

"i'm really sorry, jane..."

"mom.. don't be silly.."

we both slightly chuckle through our tears.

"i'm serious jane.. i shouldn't have done that.
i should've been there for you.. for all of you,
instead of shutting you out."

my smile slightly faded and i sniff.

"yeah.. you did.."

unfortunately.. the way i said that sounded pretty harsh..

"you never listened to me, mom...never, not even once after dads death. you're not the only one that this has affected."

"i know, baby. i know.."

she sniffs quietly, taking my gentle, hand, wrapping her hands around it.
her touch so gentle, i missed it. i missed it a lot. i missed my mom.

"i just wish you were there for me.."

"i promise, from now on, i'm here for you. all of us are."

will looked like he's on the verge of tears. his face as pale as a ghost when he looked at me.

"j-jane.."

"i'm alright."

i'm not. not after the conversation i just had with max, i'm not.

will sits down on another chair on the other side of my bed, and jonathan just stands behind mom- wait.. jonathan?

"am i going crazy or is that actually you?"
