Jessie's POV
It's been 5 weeks since the incident. Today is the day I'm going to try starting to walk again. Lucky Niamh can come. It's been kinda funny seeing Niamh look at people because they get freaked out by the scar on her face. We've not seen the team since the accident except the Magda, Pernille, and Zećira. For some reason, I can't wait to see them.
Niamh-Babe, whatcha thinking bout?
Jessie-About the team and learning how to walk. Again.
Niamh gives me a small smile and looks ahead onto the road.
Jessie-I can't wait till I can play soccer again.
Niamh-Football.
I look at her confused.
Jessie-What?
Niamh-It's called football because you play it with your feet, not your sock. Therefore, football.
I roll my eyes.
Jessie-Fine 'football'.Niamh's POV
I've just arrived at the rehab centre and helped jessie into her wheelchair.
Niamh-Ready?
She nods, and I push her in through the doors.
Receptionist-Hey, how can I help you?
Niamh-We have an appointment under the name: Jessie Fleming.
Receptionist-Ah, yes, Dr. Green will see you know.
I thank her and push jessie into the room.
Dr. Green-Hey, you must be Jessie. may I ask who you are?
Niamh-Niamh her fiancé.
Dr Green-First of all congratulations, and you ready to learn how to walk?
Jessie-Thanks and yeah.
Dr. Green-Great, I am going to ask you some questions, and then we are going to start.Jessie's POV
Answering them questions were easy. Now it's on to the hard part.
Dr. Green-So, I'm going to grab some crutches. Then we are going to get you to try to stand up with them.
I nod, and she leaves the room to get them.
Niamh-You alright?
Jessie-Yeah, just anxious.
She grabs my hand and kisses it.
Jessie-I just want to be ready for the world Cup th-
Dr. Green-I've just got them. Oh, sorry, carry on talking if you need to.
Jessie-No, it's ok. we were just talking about the World Cup this summer.
Dr Green-Ah, yes, my daughter is obsessed with Womens Football.
Jessie-What teams does she support?
Dr. Green-Chelsea and England, but my wife wants her to support Canada instead of England.
Jessie-Ah, that's cool. me and Niamh are massive fans of all three of them.
Dr Green-Her favourite players are Alexia Putellas and Niamh Charles. Now, come to think of it, you both have the same first names.
I start to rub my neck and blush.
Niamh-Thats so cool, I love our fans.
Dr Green-Oh my god, you too are Jessie Fleming and Niamh Charles. Sorry I didn't notice earlier. I don't really watch football.
Jessie-It's fine. Don't worry about it.Niamh's POV
After that conversation, I helped Jessie stand up with help with her crutches.
Niamh-Yay!
Jessie-Easy tiger, I've not even walked yet.
I just shrug in response. Dr. Green just laughs. I watch as she takes tiny steps, and my smile forms wider every time. After a couple more rounds, we stop.
Niamh-Yay!
Jessie just laughs and shakes her head.
Dr. Green-Ok, so what I'd like you to do is take these crutches with you, and I will book another appointment for you. So will you be able to go back in two weeks?
Jessie nods.
Dr. green-Great, I will see you in two weeks. Also, you might want to take wheelchair just in case she gets tired.
I get the wheelchair and I watch as Jessie crutches out of the room.A/N-im tired so may not be good. I can't really be bothered to proofread it.
