The day Tatum feared most had finally come,it was the day of her father and best friend's funeral. Wes,Judy,liv and Dewey were having joint funerals since they were practically always together. The only one missing from the group was tatum as she was still walking along the soil unlike her friends and family who were dancing in the clouds over her.
"Coming!" Tatum said at the sound of the doorbell "hey tate." The Meeks twins said in unison "are you ready?" They asked "mentally no,physically yes." Tatum said in response "then come on." Mindy said,grabbing Tatums arm to pull her towards their car "how are you doing sweetie?" Martha asked the girl from the front seat as she got in the car "I don't know." Tatum said in response "Is my mom coming?" Tatum asked her friends, "Yea,we are gonna pick her and your aunt up." Mindy said as the car took off from the former Riley trailer home as Tatum was to move in with Chad and Mindy until college once the funeral was over.
The car pulled up to a hotel,Tatum spotted her mother and aunt "Mom,Sidney!!" Tatum yelled to her family as she jumped out the car to get them "Tatum,baby!" Gale said as she hugged her daughter "come on!" Tatum said,gesturing towards the car.
"Hello Martha." Gale and Sidney said together "Hello ladies! kids move back a row so these two can sit closer to the front." Martha said, causing her children to go to the third and last row of the car.
When they got to the funeral home it was almost time for the guests to start arriving for the funerals.first Tara and Chad said a few words about wes and Liv, deputy Farney for Judy than Gale and Sydney went up for Dewey finally it was Tatums turn "hello everyone,for those of you who don't know i'm deweys daughter Tatum and Wes Hicks and Liv McKenzie's best friend,No Offense chad and practically Judy's surrogate daughter.all I have to say about Wes, Liv,Judy and my dad was that they were they best people I have ever known and will have ever known. My dad always did anything I wanted to do. I mean when it was his turn to pick a movie for movie night he always let me pick for him,we also had karaoke nights every week with the occasional surprise guest, And Wes he was always just a call away,whenever I needed something he always delivered it, he even would go to the walmart in another town just to get me a popsicle on a random Tuesday if I wanted one." Tatum said with tears in her eyes.
"Whenever Liv needed help I was there with her and I think she repaid me for that by being the best friend towards to me, and then Judy was always there for me whenever my mother couldn't be that's why I say she's my surrogate mom since I didn't really have one for a while" tatum said before pausing "but Mom don't worry I loved you more" tatum reassured her mother before continuing her speech.
"I will never ever forget how much these people helped me throughout my life and how I would never have made it without them." She ended,as she looked up towards the sky to thank her father,best friends and mother figure for being everything she had ever needed and will ever need.
"Did I do ok?" Tatum asked her mom with the need of reassurance, putting her head on her mothers shoulder "you did great sweetheart." Gale said as she kissed her daughter's forehead. "You really did." Sidney added.
And just like that the day Tatum feared most was finally over much to her relief.
