Zumira dropped the book in front of Stolas, causing the prince to jump in fright.
"Well, I wasn't expecting you to be that fast." He commented.
"I don't like wasting time."
Stolas looked up at her, "And you were....discreet?"
"Quite discreet, your Highness."
Stolas waved his hand at her, "Oh damn the formalities. I am your boss and want to he treated just like any other employer that hired you."
Zumira gave her head a nod, "Yes, sir."Stolas got up and placed the book in his own secret hideaway. There was a latch upon the bookshelf where a small hidden portkey, big enough to hold a book like his Grimoire, revealed itself.
"Now, I want you to always make sure the book is here and stays precisely that."
"Of course."
Stolas turned to her shutting the contraption shut, clapping his hands together, "As for this bodyguard position, You will be tasked with safeguarding my home, myself whenever I feel the urge to leave the mansion or to spend time with my daughter, Octavia."Zumira listened as he explained the job with her arms crossed behind her. The bodyguard job didn't exactly sound all that too thrilling but she was getting paid and thats what mattered.
"I do have a spare room rearranged for you to stay while I have you hired and you are requested to attend every meal time."
"I will do my best sir."
Stolas looked her over, seeing the mess of clothes she was wearing, "I can also provide clothes to you if necessary."
She shook her head, "It won't be."Zumira then stepped forward to the Goetia Prince, "I'm curious as to why you need a bodyguard."
"Blitzy was the same way when I asked for his services when I took Via out to LooLoo Land." The prince grew a soft smile, "A member of the Goetia family is always under the sort of attention from the crowds that would do nefarious acts on the royals."
Zumira raised an eyebrow, "What was your affiliation with this, Blitzy?"
Stolas glared at her, "First off only I can call him that."This sudden outburst startled Zumira but she didn't show her fright.
"Second, he was my friend. He was my lover. The one Imp that made me realize for what my life was truly worth and I took it back."
There was a tone of devotion in Stolas's words and yet, Zumira couldn't help but catch the hint of heart break as well.
She didn't want to pry or seem the least bit interested, this was her employer, not a friend.
"Anyway, I will be getting Via for the weekend and I want to plan a special trip for her. She said something about a shop with weird taxidermy but I can't remember the name." Stolas grumbled thumping his fist against his head.
"Stylish Occult.""Wait, you've been there?"
Zumira shrugged her shoulders, "I may have visited once or twice but I know the place."
"Where is this located exactly?" Stolas questioned curiously.
"In more of the prominent cities." Zumira answered.
"Good. Then as a bodyguard you will accompany us. Be an escort and kill amything that gets too close to myself or my daughter. Fail to do so and I hope you use the same weapon on yourself.""I do my job with pride and accuracy."
Zumira told him.
"Good."
The room got quiet with Stolas staring down at the desk he sat at.
"Sir, if you don't mind, I will go check the perimeter."
Stolas ignored her and Zumira walked out of the room to keave the prince to his silence.
She walked down the hall looking up at the many framed photos of the prince's family. The only one that stood out with a foul, stern look in each picture was a white and grey female whose body mass couldn't exactly fit the frame.Zumira moved on to where she found a small kitchen. Taking a quick, it gleamed with polish and a large carnivorous plant sat towards the far corner of the dining room.
She proceeded to find the staircase leading to the second level, assuming it was where the resident rooms were. She dare not scale the steps just yet and went put the same double doors she had stared at from the beginning. Zumira exited and stood at the top of the railed staircase overlooking the luxerious driveway."This is definitely going to be one Hell of a job." She sighed, "I should have just said no. An Imp, working for the Goetia Prince. If my family found out."
She hung her head finding no use in arguing about it now. Zumira took a look around and decided it was clear and safe to head back inside. The next thing she would have to do is get acquainted with her living quarters and arrange her weapons accordingly.
