''8, we have an 11 year difference" he says with a laugh
*Hes 19?!* and i'm dazed, I thought I was the only young detective.
And the look on my face is obviously visible because he responds with bursts of laughter.
"Thats why i appreciate your work so much, you're just like me" he says with a bigger smile then before and i can feel something fluttering inside my stomach *butterflies.* and they're everywhere, so ticklish and gentle, i'm embarrassed.
''Hey Lanie i have a question" he says and i'm caught off guard
''H-huh? Yes?" i hope he cant see the tomatoey red embarrassment on my face.
''Am i...scary?'' and that was not what i was expecting, nothing close to what i thought he would said, i couldnt even make a guess but if i did it wouldnt be this.
''No? Of course not, i mean- do u want to be?"
"No...its just i see fright in everyone's eyes when i'm around...even yours."
And then i see tears, slow transparent tears running down his face, and the glare of sadness in his eyes and i was not expecting this at all, he looks so serious but this part of him...reminds me of a little kid, and its so cute, so adorable and sad at the same time.
''No no no...'' i whisper and before i know it im holding him, holding him close and reassuring him that everythings okay and i dont find him scary, and hes holding onto me so tightly and something is making me want to stay in this moment, this moment where hes so close to me and so vulnerable.
God hes so precious.
''Im sorry..." he says with the red blush of embarrassment on his face and respond with
''Hey its okay" and a smile
And then there's something more then embarrassment there, his face is more red. And i deny the fact that he might...he might be feeling something different.
''Alright well, i should get going" i say quietly
''No please-" he shouts and then corrects himself
''I mean- have a nice sleep."
I walk up to my door "you too."
I have one last glance of him and those big brown eyes.
And then hes gone.
