Kaylah walked into the house, and found herself being yelled at by her mother.
"¡Ahí chingará! Where the hell have you been? You didn't even come back last night. Wait, is that your quinceañera dress your wearing? It's not damaged is it?" Kaylah's mother asked.
"No, mom. It's not damaged, I definitely made sure of that. I lost track of time and I crashed at Geoff's place. Which was where we had the party at. Oh, and before you ask; no, I didn't have alcohol. I know I reek of it, but Geoff decided to go all out. I washed it in Geoff's laundry room, so it's good."
"Oh, honey you had me scared! You didn't even answer my calls!"
"Well I tried to call you back but you didn't answer those!"
"Yeah, I was at work. Next time, please let me know if you spend the night at someone's, okay?"
"Yes mamá."
----------------------
"Hey Mom."
"Bethany Allison Richardson! Where the fuck have you been!? And what is that terrible stench?" She stood up from the kitchen table and went up to Beth.
Beth twiddled her fingers nervously. "It's nothing. Look, I'm okay. I went to a party."
"Did you get drunk? Beth, we can't afford this."
"I know, but-"
"Go to your room. Now Beth! I'm am terribly disappointed in you. You wanna go out and get drunk while I'm over here trying not to get evicted from this apartment? Beth, you don't even bother thinking about others, do you? Go to your room. Now!"
----------------
"Leshawna Moore! Where in God's name have you been?!" Her dad screamed at her.
"Daddy, relax. I was at a party, and I ended up sleeping there."
Her dad sniffed the air. "Woo! Girl, did you have a swig of that Bud Light? You smell terribly!" Her dad scrunched up his face.
"Nope, the host wanted this night to be special. So, he went above and beyond."
" 'Shawna, go take a shower. You're burning my eyes, girl!"
------------------
Noah dashed to the door. He didn't want his parents knowing where he was. He also knew his brothers and sisters would snitch on him. He carefully unlocked the door, and thought he made it in successfully.
He didn't. His mom and dad were standing right there.
Noah knew he might be in trouble.
"Noah! There you are! Oh, you had me worried where you were! Your siblings didn't know where you were either!"
Speaking of siblings, Noah's little brother threw a ball at his head. "Hey, watch it!" He threw it back at him.
"Noah Sterecra! Do not talk to your brother like that!" His mom slightly raised her voice.
"Oh yeah, because having a ball thrown upside your head is just amazing, isn't it? Also, you told me to go to more events, so you can't really get mad that I did." Noah crossed his arms and rolled his eyes.
"Go to your room and don't come out!" His dad yelled across the living room.
"Whatever."
------------
"Cody, you have 10 seconds to tell me where you were before I destroy everything you own." His dad told him calmly.
"I was at a party."
"You were at a what?"
"A party."
"Did you drink?"
"No." Cody stuttered out.
"Then why do you smell like you have?"
"Because the host had alcohol there."
His dad scanned his body for anything suspicious. "What's that spot on your neck?"
"What do you mean?" Cody was confused.
"You know exactly what I mean. If you have a girlfriend, just say so." Cody didn't want to get kicked out, or sent somewhere because he told his dad he's gay.
"Yeah. I do."
"Cody."
"Yes?"
"Go clean up. You look disgusting."
--------------
Gwen returned to her place, surprised her mom didn't notice when she was gone. Her mom turned around from her phone, all attention on her daughter.
"Hey honey! How was the party?"
Wait. How did her mom know about that?
"Hey. How did you know I was at that party?"
"Easy. First, you dressed up in your black dress. You know, with the bows? Second, you were going to see your crush too. What's her name?"
How did her mom know she was gay?
"How did you know I was gay?"
"You seemed like you were."
Gwen was astonished. Her mother didn't lie when she meant "I know everything about you." Man. She knew everything. It's like she can read minds.
"Also, you smell like alcohol." Oh yeah, that explains it too.
"Did you get hurt in anyway?" Her mother asked, concerned.
"No, I'm okay. You know I'd tell you if there's anything wrong." Gwen reassured her mother.
"True. Go clean up honey, we have to leave in a bit."
