When I woke up I was in the hospital with notti by my side sleep and something inside me just warmed up, just knowing at least notti cared.
"You're up" he said jumping out of his chair glad I was ok "Ethan I know you didn't sleep in that uncomfortable ass chair" I said laughing "Anything to make sure that you're okay" he said smiling "I love you Ethan" I said "I love you more Essence" he said smiling and grabbing my hand.
"Oh glad you're feeling better" my doctor said as she walked into the room "What happened to her" notti asked before I even got to greet the doctor "Well due to her being a month pregnant and her stress levels being high, it seems she had a panic attack" the doctor said " I would suggest that if you don't want to lose that baby you get away from whatever is stressing you out" her nurse continued "dd" I mumbled causing notti to look at me furrowing his eyebrows hearing what I said. "It's dd" he asked almost mad "Nah it's all good mh" I said so obviously lying as he looked at the nurse and doctor. "Would you like some time alone with your girlfriend" the doctor asked "We don't-" "yes please" notti said cutting me off "What's going on with you and dd" he asked I sighed before answering "I'm thinking about giving the baby up" i said "I mean it's so obvious that he doesn't look at me the way I thought he did and it just hurts knowing that in a couple of months and my child may not have a father" I continued "Es you need to seriously talk to him bc this is serious and I really don't want you to give up my niece or nephew, I might actually kill dd if you do" he said making me laugh "I will" I said knowing he was right I don't want my child to grow up like me with no parents. "But if he does decide he's going to step down I'm here either way it goes Es" he said hugging me.
I started to cry, I got the warmth and care I've been craving from dd for so long and it felt amazing. Notti pulled off feeling his wet shoulder and looked me in my eyes "I got you mh" he said in a low and calm tone after that I couldn't help it...I kissed him, I kissed the uncle of my child, but he didn't pull away why didn't he pull away. The kiss ended after about 30 seconds and I still clung on to him, embracing him, hugging him.
We let go still holding hands. "Es" he said looking at the ceiling "Yes" I said looking at him as he looked back down at me "I'm so proud of you" he said and with that i started to cry again but harder and I couldn't stop it, why couldn't I stop it, please someone make it stop and someone did...I thought about my child running around the backyard playing with notti as I watched through the kitchen window washing the dishes. Notti has become my lifeline.
Notti's POV Something Es was thinking about was cheering her up a lot bc she was just staring at the ceiling with the biggest smile on her face and trust me nothing on that muhfucka was interesting, but this was her moment so I let her be enjoying the smile on he face that she rarely has.
The door opened "you're good to go if you want" the nurse said "you just have to do the sign out papers and pay the bill" she continued.
I looked over at Es and she nodded " my card is in my purse" she said "nah I got it" I responded and she smiled. I don't think Es realizes how hard she works just to provide for herself but that ends now. Until dd steps up, I'll be her provider and best friend, shit I'll be her mid wife if I need to be. At Es house *Es POV* When I got home everyone was still there. "Are you okay twin" ddot said "Yea just a panic attack" I replied as everyone but dd got up to hug me. I think he was staring me down because I had to put on Notti's hoodie but who cares I didn't have one. "Alright she has to take a nap guys" notti said shooing them away causing me to laugh "I have to shower notti" I said "Okay go now I'll find you something to wear" he replied "Okay" I said hugging him as I turned to go shower "Es" dd called out "Yes" i turned to look at him and he hugged me, dd hugged me. I hugged him back with a smile. Why didn't his hug feel as genuine as Notti's did. I let go. "I have to shower now" i said "I know go ahead ma" he backing up The pet name didn't feel the same anymore, what was happening to us.
As I went to shower notti walked to my room as well, since my bathroom was connected, he looked through the drawers and i went into the bathroom. Notti POV Es had plenty of clothes so I just chose what she might feel more comfortable in.

When I got her clothes out I left the room going back to everyone else. "I'm hungry, y'all?" I asked "I am" ddot said "Of course you are" I said laughing "Anybody else" I say opening DoorDash. "Yea" everyone else said "Alright I'm going to chic fil a what y'all want" I asked
Me:Chicken sandwich meal and lemonade Hailey: Cobb Salad and Watermelon Mint Bev Ddot: Spicy Deluxe Sandwich Meal and cookies and cream shake Aaliyah: Cool Wrap Meal and lemonade Dd: Spicy Deluxe meal and lemonade "I'll just get Es what she normally eats" I said "What's that" dd asked "Nuggets, fries and a frosted ice coffee" I responded "Oh" dd said looking dumbfounded "The food will be here in 45 mins" i said "Dayummm we ain't gotta pay" Ddot said "Nah I got it" I said laughing "ima go tell es"
I went up the steps to go to es room and knocked. "Who is it" she asked "Notti" "Come in" When I walked in she was in a towel wiping witch hazel across her face with a cotton ball. "Oh shit my bad es" I said closing the door Then I heard footsteps and she opened it back up "what you want dicc" she said laughing "Ay watch yo mouth" I said laughing as well "I bought you some chic fil a it should be here by time you wake back up" "Okay thanks mh" she said kissing my cheek "Of course" I said " now go to sleep"
