The Journals of Candece Sinclair

January 1st, 1780

So today is the start of the new year, Father is holding a great banquet so the maids have been busy preparing food all day.

I went to see Adrian today as I always do, since I always make him a meal I made him some grilled chicken. I managed to burn the chicken though, and I could not return to the kitchen since the maids were hard at work preparing food. I was upset that I had burned his food but I took it with me regardless.

He was where he always was, on our ancestor's tombstone, his eyes not yet noticing my presence.

For the sake of this being a journal, I will not write our conversation in Romanian like we spoke it. Adrian can only speak Romanian at the moment.

"Adrian!" I yelled to get his attention.

"Princess! I heard your Father is throwing a banquet. Why are you not attending?" He asked.

"It hasn't started yet, besides, you're much more intriguing than a bunch of strangers that are only friends of my Father." I explained and sat, unwrapping the chicken.

Adrian's eyes lit up when he saw the chicken, so I handed it to him and watched him eat it happily.

"Then there's the annoying princes who try to marry me. All of them are so annoying and weak. Bleh." I said, sticking out my tongue.

Adrian looked at me as I mentioned this, his eyes filled with what I can only describe as jealousy. Odd.

We talked for a little while longer before I had to leave before the banquet was held.

My sister and I sat on either side of my father while my mother sat at the other end of the table. The friends of my father were quite loud and obnoxious.

One of the princes kept attempting to hold my hand or touch my face, how rude. I would've impaled his tongue on my steak knife had no one been around to see.

Prince Ares of the Vampire Clan in Greece, I must remember that name. I want Father to hear what disgusting things this brat does and says to me.

Hopefully by my next entry that vile creature shall be exterminated.
