I haven't written in a while since we were on a vacation. I needed to write this down though.
Today, I....
Oh I hate to admit it, but I experienced fear. Pure fear.
Prince Ares came to visit today. His parents went off to explore Romania a bit more and left Ares here alone as usual.
This time was quite different, however. Father and Mother were out with Willow for a brief amount of time, and the only people that could watch over Ares and I were Delilah and the other maids.
I was ignoring Ares as much as I possibly could, which was nothing new. I still despised him. He was far too full of himself.
"Why do you not pay attention to me, Candece?" He asked.
"You are annoying. It is simple." I told him, crossing my arms.
His icy blue eyes glared at me. I had never seen him glare before. Ares never got mad.
"How dare you?! You think you can treat your fiancé like this?! We are to be married in a few months, Candece!" He pointed out.
"Hold your tongue before I cut it out!" I shouted.
"You think you'll do that and receive no consequences?! Ha! What a spoiled bitch you are!" He chuckled.
Ares usually bored me, and it was quite shocking to hear him talk this way. It was so... Distasteful.
"How dare you call yourself a prince?! You clearly have no manners!" I growled at him.
"Insulting me even more?! Oh when we leave that wedding reception..." He spat through gritted teeth.
"What? What do you think you'll be doing? I would beat you senseless!"
He smirked as he grabbed my wrist and pulled me to my feet. His grip was surprisingly strong, and it was difficult to break out of.
He dragged me over to the wall and slammed me against it hard, my head hitting last and beginning to bleed.
Ares then dared to tear at my clothing.
"I guess it's dumb to wait until then though~ you're far softer now~ and I have the opportunity presenting itself right in front of me~" He cooed as his hands wandered over my now bare skin.
I froze. I couldn't do anything. He had too strong of a grip on me.
He began to kiss me roughly, his mouth tasting like olives and meat. I almost vomited in his mouth at the taste.
He pressed himself tight against me, and I suddenly gained control of myself again.
I head butted him hard, kicked him hard in the leg, and when he was weak, I grabbed a knife from the table and sprinted out, hoping any maids would be outside, even if it was raining and misty.
I ran through the garden only to find no one there, and so I finally ran to the cemetery.
I could feel his livid aura as he chased after me. I was breathing far too quickly, and I was terrified about what he would do when he caught me.
The cemetery was in sight! I looked around for Adrian, but couldn't see him through the rain and mist.
I decided that he must have been back a bit farther in the cemetery, and it wouldn't be an issue.
But then fingers clasped around my throat from behind. Ares had caught me.
He threw me down into the muddy grass face first. I swallowed water, mud, and grass. I choked for a long while.
While I was choking, I heard him stripping himself of his own clothing.
I gripped my knife and tried to turn around and wound him, but he saw and kicked my hard, the knife flying out of my hand.
Lightning struck as he approached me, it illuminated his angry face, his eyes red and his teeth sharp.
"You've got to learn to be submissive and do as I say if you're to be my wife, Candece." He chuckled. "So just stop fighting and let it happen."
At this point I was bleeding internally and externally.
I.... I'm going to be defiled by him?
I.... I don't want this.... Mother... Father.... Delilah.... Save me....
As Prince Ares started groping me once more, there was a terrible screech that boomed even over the thunder.
Ares looked around in fear. Nothing could be seen in the mist however.
"Stupid frogs I guess." He shrugged.
Suddenly, blood red eyes shone in the distance, and they grew closer. Another screech rang out.
It was Adrian... Adrian was coming to save me...
Ares grabbed my knife and prepared to fight him. It was no use though.
Adrian descended upon him like sin descends upon a demon.
My vision was blurry, but I saw Adrian tear at Ares's flesh with his claws. Ares shrieked in agony.
I watched as Adrian tore the prince to shreds. His limbs being torn off, his organs being torn out of his body until he was nothing but a mangled piece of flesh and bone.
Adrian panted heavily after he was done. His black skin was tinted with red now, and bits of flesh and bone were in his nails as well.
"Thank you...." I managed to whisper before passing out.
I woke up in my own bed and in one of my nightgowns. I heard Father conversing with Ares's parents downstairs. Willow and Mother were on either side of me.
"Oh Candece, you're awake!" Mother sobbed as she held me close. "Oh I thought I'd lost you!"
"No... I am fine...." I mumbled.
They have been constantly checking up on me now, and I am said to heal in a few days.
I told them all what had happened, but instead of saying Adrian killed Ares, I said I did it myself. Not to make myself seem stronger, but to protect Adrian.
Father seemed very on the fence about what happened. He definitely thinks I should've fought harder in the first place, I am sure of such, but he admires the thought of me ripping Ares to shreds while being wounded.
Mother has been blaming herself all day, and every time she comes to see me, she almost breaks into tears.
I hope Adrian is okay, and I hope that I receive no more suitors.
