Josh's POV
My eyes slowly flutter open, but my vision's blurrier than ever. I imagine that this is how my sister see's things. My head hurts, and my mind is foggy, but I'm alive. I think...
Creak
The door to my room squeaks open.
"Josh?" A girls voice asks, "Josh are you awake?"
I yawn and mumble to myself.
"I think so," I reply groggily.
My vision begins to clear up, and I'm able to see Serena at the foot of my bed.
"Oh, thank Arceus," She sighs, "How are you feeling?"
I don't know how I'm feeling. Fine, I guess?
"I'm doing alright," I respond, "I don't really feel too much right now, though. How long was I out for?"
"A day or two, I think," Serena answers me, "I don't really know when you passed out, but when you got here, you were out cold on a stretcher."
"And how's everybody else? Ash, Pikachu? They doing okay?"
"They were thankfully mostly unharmed," Serena smiles.
"That's good. But what about Flow? How's she?"
Serena's smile turns into a frown.
"She's been up since the surgery on her legs yesterday, but she could be better. Despite the bones healing enough for her to walk after your Gardevoir healed you guys a bit, her legs are barely holding her weight at this point. It's strange that she was even able to walk down in the Crater, since there were parts of her bones that were cracked most of the way through."
My face grows sadder.
"I don't know how to respond to that, if I'm being honest..." I mumble.
Serena nods in understanding.
Crack
The door opens again, but this time Nemona and Ash enter.
"Oh, good!" Ash grins, "He's awake!"
Serena places a finger over her mouth.
"Keep you voice down, Ash," She scolds.
I smile weakly and lay back in my bed.
"Is Flow here still?" I ask, a hint of worry in my voice.
"She's just getting breakfast in the cafeteria," Nemona responds, "You didn't think she'd left already, did you?"
I did, but I'm not gonna admit that.
"No, not really, just making sure," I cover my concern.
