A book... A book that Albedo would like to read... Kaeya paced all over the library, thinking about what to surprise Albedo with.
He knew Albedo enjoyed reading, although he most likely had every single book about alchemy and science to ever exist, so now the options were minimized - Kaeya thought about visiting Marjorie, however, a gift from her couldn't necessarily be considered a friendly gesture, as the prices weren't very budget-friendly.
His fingers skimmed along a stack of books, narrowly missing a paper cut, maybe Kaeya should invest in some decent gloves, ones that cover his fingers; Albedo's gloves had good coverage and protection, as he could handle hot chemicals with no worry at all... No worry that the leather would be damaged, or that the heat would eventually get through the thick material.
Just as Kaeya got lost in his thoughts, his stare following the pattern of the ground, he heard some loud yet soft footsteps behind him. He turned around to be greeted by a familiar face, one that he hadn't visited in quite a few weeks, "Oh, Kaeya!" Lisa exclaimed, "Here to get some reading done? You ought to, I've never seen you pick up a book before."
Kaeya rolled his eyes, "I read pretty frequently, thank you very much..." He crossed his arms as he spoke.
"Oh yeah? You mean your little boyfriend's alchemy books?" She teasingly giggled, copying Kaeya's pose.
He felt his cheeks warm up slightly until they cooled off due to his cryo ability, Kaeya ignored Lisa's boyfriend statement and went on to follow with his request, "I wanted to get him another book, but he has practically every single one he'd ever be interested in reading." She nodded, encouraging him to keep talking, "Do you have any books, say, in the back? Or other ones you think he'd like?"
Lisa made a humming sound, before shaking her head. "I don't think so, you can always look upstairs in the activity books, maybe he likes coloring."
Although a somewhat socially childish idea, Kaeya agreed, "Yeah, you could be right." And so he went upstairs, finding the labeled bookshelf of things to do. He noted how the books ranged from childish game ideas, to coloring, and then more mature themes - but not too mature, as he imagined those would be in the restricted books area, which he hadn't dared to go near, mainly because of how defensive Lisa was of it.
Kaeya picked up a coloring book with a flower on it and then flipped through it.
Then found another.
And another.
He flipped through all of them.
They all just seemed to be more directed toward somebody who was Klee's age, so he put the books back in their rightful places and looked more to the mature side, hoping to find a coloring book with more details.
As he looked more and more, he realized he'd never seen Albedo actually color something, only sketch, and so he dropped that idea pretty quickly, he felt like giving up and going empty-handed, until his gaze was glued onto a book.
' Fun Games for Fun Adults.'
What a name... he thought, picking it up and flipping through the index.
Most of them just said generic things like TCG, pranks to pull on the public, and social experiments, and then there were quieter games like drawing competitions, kissing competitions?! and much more.
He realized that'd probably be his best bet and decided to check it out, Lisa waved him off and told him the due date to return it, which he quickly noted in his memory.
Luckily for Kaeya, when the weather was awful in Dragonspine, Albedo stayed in house rentals all around Mondstadt. So this time, Kaeya didn't have to climb up the treacherous mountain to pay a visit.
