I do find it flattering that my work was used as inspiration but please do state who you got it from, you never know what deviant is reading and on the hunt for something new.
School is coming to an end and i am working more on my models but it seems I will be back to writing soon seeing as an idea i had was used almost word for word in a sense, i don't remember giving permission for such.
Either way, if I do stumble upon works that seem to take too much from another work i will be suspicious of your future work, if you can have ideas of your own with using others as a crutch then look into your brain further to find your own ideas, as it cannot be a coincidence.
Very sorry for the rant, i just do not enjoy others work being used with the thought they are no longer active. I am very passionate about my fics.
