I barely glanced up from my book as someone entered then left classroom after a few moments, but my peace was disturbed as Mr. Haven called out my name and waved a slip of light pink paper,
"Y/n L/n, you're needed in the counselors office, take your things the bell rings in less than fifteen minutes." He looked back down at the papers he was grading and set the slip on the corner of his desk.I closed my book after stuffing in the wrapper of my gum as a bookmark, I put away my book and zipped up my bag. I stood from my desk and grabbed my water bottle as I walked towards his desk.
I took the slip of paper and hummed as I walked out of the classroom and into the hallway, mostly empty except for a few of my fellow yearbook students taking pictures and quotes. I waved to Jules as I passed by, making my way to the staircase and down to the first floor. I sighed as I turned left, Just a few doors down now, I hummed and hoped this was just to confirm my career path.

"Miss L/n you need one more extra credit to walk the stage." Y/n couldn't even hear the rest of what Mrs. Baker was talking about, she felt like someone had just whacked her silly with a pipe. Her heart was racing and her mind blank over how she could be missing a credit.
"Miss L/n?" Y/n looked up and Mrs Baker repeated herself,
"There are still a few classes that are working on their final projects, I've arranged a schedule change for you, it should be done by lunch. Now the bells going to ring for fourth period soon, and you've got to get to culinary." With that Mrs. Baker shooed Y/n out of her office and back into the halls.Y/n stood for a second after she closed the door, she felt like screaming but she took a deep breath and began walking down the hallways to the north wing of the school for culinary class.

Y/n POV
I picked up two of the plastic trays and handed one to Jules as we continued down the lunch line,
"And boom, my college career to be a general surgeon, over. Caput. Just like that." I grabbed a milk and juice as we scooted down the line."Oh come on, you still get to be a doctor! You just gotta work hard on this extra class to make sure you pass. Sure it might mean extra hours here at the school instead of interning at the pharmacy, but wouldn't you rather work just a little harder on this last mystery class credit and graduate? Or do you really wanna kiss your dreams good-
"Ooh! Pizza!" I laughed as Jules distracted herself food. I shook my head but she was right, whatever this mystery class is, passing is my only chance to attend college with-
"What would you like?" Jules gently elbowed my side as I registered the question.
"Oh, (Chicken/Beef) Nachos, with cheese please." I gave the lunch lady a smile as I handed her the plastic tray, she nodded and filled it."Sides?" I shook my head and she handed me the tray back, I took a few steps forward as Jules handed her tray next and got her lunch.
I hummed as I moved down the line, I gave a soft hi to the other lunchlady as I typed in my lunch pin. I didn't wait for Jules, and just made my way to our usual lunch table. Jack, Miguel and Rachel were having lunch in the Theater Hall, preparing for the final show. I set down my tray of food, and tossed my bag onto the chair next to mine before sitting down myself.
I picked up the set of plastic silverware and began to pick at the plate of nachos, I jumped when Jules tossed her backpack on one of the table chairs and plopped down in a chair across from me.
