In life we sometimes see the weirdest things. For we all believe in the institution of the mirror. We all see our own visage, and we all know the feeling of sorrow. But this is a daily sorrow, and rains on us all. We all push through, and warp our minds into seeing a less hideous reflection. We also all see clouds, which just has to be the most bizarre thing in the world. For why in the world are they the way they are? Like, giant puffballs? They are very weird, and also they are scary. Have you ever been attacked by a cloud? It is vicious, and brings one into eternal tears. A cloud will form over your happy spirit, then send out cold slings of death. They pound, and drown until all is filled with a deadly cold. With terror, I look back, and wonder how I'm still alive. For almost daily these vicious bunnies in the sky try to kill us.
But again, these are a more commonplace sorrow, and a usual weird thing, which in definition may mean that it is indeed not a weird thing. For weird, and new are synonyms, and lo, usual and weird are antonyms.
I want to speak of a truly weird thing, not like Santa Claus, but an once-in-a-lifetime occurrence.
This event took place in the early months of the year twenty two. In this time I had the wonderful opportunity to toil all day in the sun for no pay. This joy I find myself employing more often than I think is good for the soul, and body, and spirit, and health; for these joys shouldn't be a constant. For if done too much, a pleasure can be hated, and filled with malice.
As I was enjoying this forced pleasure, I stopped for a moment. Actually, I stopped for many moments, for I took to testing the speed of my legs. This useful and important necessity I stopped right after getting out of shouting range from where I ran from. This I thought to be an important part of running.
Well, I enjoyed another pleasure, the pleasure of sitting down, and not slaving away. I sat in the midst of a vast field. In my mind I decided that this pleasure was among the greatest given to man.
While I sat, without purpose, care, and heaviness of mind, I came to appreciate the joys of being worthless. It felt great...for two minutes, but after a span I soon wanted a new thing, an unusual thing.
I thought deeply about the ocean. Then my mind went spinning to the sciences of a tire. I put my mind's eye on the task of envisioning a tire that didn't spin, yet still roiling. Needless to say, my mind had a tough time showing this in the inner eye.
I put my strength next into relaxing, and enjoying the warmth of the sun. This task and chore I bore with pleasant suffering.
"Oh, this is just too warm and comfortable," I said to myself.
I decided that enjoying the sun must be the greatest thing to do. I took to it naturally, and soon I was undertaking the task like a professional.
I awoke with great peacefulness, meaning I never awoke for a while; for waking up is never peaceful. But finally my internal clock told me that I was a lazy bum and needed to get up.
I followed my clock's advice, and woke up with a start; for again waking is never peaceful. I looked around my surroundings. The earth was now fleeing the sun, and had outpaced it to the point where the sun was now nowhere in sight. I looked further on planning on seeing the moon, but it, too, seemed simply nowhere.
I was still confused as I stood up, but I was not concerned; for again, with waking up, your body is always thrown into shock.
Still though, the world didn't go back to what I thought it should be. I continued to wander, wondering what in the world was going on. The world seemed different, but after one wakes up, all is horrible.
