Why is there letters in math

Who put letters in math like, full on equations don't need alphabet soup in them. But honestly, who was high enough to put English and mathematics together. Like bro, I don't want to know why a=85, I want to know why someone thought that was okie dokie. Math teachers need therapy, like who the hell would look at 2a + 6b • x =67 and think that was ok to give as homework. (That was not a real answer, I'm to stupid to try and make an answer for that). Does anyone agree with me, I can ask plenty of people, except math nerds, if letters in math should be okay, and I bet at least 80% would think that it's stupid. While on the topic of math, I'd like to address homework, the most painful thing on a Sunday night. No one likes homework, and we have to do it and waste valuable time doing something that we already went over that same day. Honestly, screw math, try science, you have endless stupid ideas there.
