Down by the shore

Chapter One: Where am I?

The girl woke up thinking she was dead, a bright light making her squint thinking somehow she got to heaven, but no it wasn't. She then realized she was on a shore in a grotto filled with beautiful glowing crystals of all shapes and sizes each one with a unique color yet all of them give a shimmering glow. The girl then realizes she was healed, the gun wound was patched up with stitches a tiny scar and a bruise left behind and some pain.

After sometime the girl got out of the water and onto a rock where she sat and checked the gold she brought, the girl then thinks. Thinking that this gold is what she came for this thing she risked her life for she scoffs as it echos in the grotto, the girl then jumps when she heard something swimming in the water splashing around. A human like person with a fish like tail them emerged from the water.

"Oh umm... I didn't expect you to wake up, tis really dark outside" The man says smiling, in the moment the girl didn't speak panicked that its a Siren trying to get her to go in and drown her. The boy realizes and sighs "Don't worry, I'm friendly... You humans need to realize there is more than just Sirens right?" It giggles and gets closer to her, the girl reacts to this by going a bit more back and falls off the rock.

The merman giggles again and asks "Very unusual to see someone blacked out in the sea holding a bag of treasure I will say, that gun wound was hard to patch up hopefully I did good" He says then the girl speaks as she sits back on the rock "W-Where am I?" In a sore and worn out voice, The merman says "I'm my grotto... I'm Cesar... By the way... any you?"

The girl speaks and says "Sia or Sybil as the crew called me" She says "Nice to meet you Sybil" He smiles telling her to not be alarmed, the girl or as we now know Sybil smiles back feeling a bit more happy, she sighs and says "So Cesar... What part of the map are we in? Town, island, I'll take anything" The merman chuckles and says "We'll Sybil, you are in West Narvid, if you swim outside the Grotto into the ocean and make a turn then swim to the shore you will be near the town" Cesar says as if he was there before. Sybil questions a little on how he knew all this and all. She think and then speaks "Can you take me there? As far as you can go of course"

The Merman nods and smiles then grabs her hand as Sybil grabs her pouch and gold, they both go under the water and out of the grotto swimming in the crystal clear Ocean, they resurface and Sybil smiles thanking the young merman. She then swims off to the town not even looking back, she thinks as she swims to the shore... How come I survived and the others before me didn't? How come I was lucky? Sybil sighs and shakes her head letting some of the water drip down, the dress being heavier than before with the water, she re clips it back in her belt and takes off her boots letting them dry a bit before putting them back on with a few trial and error.

After she finishes she shakes her head once more like a dog and grabs the bag of gold putting most of it pouch she carries, she then walks to the nearby town of West Narvid said to be filled with Norseman also known as Viking and raiders as well as merchants and then her kind... Pirates... She gulps a bit scared putting her other hand above her sword just in case and hides the extra gold under a palm tree with the letter V carved in there. Sybil didn't think of anything and continues to the town hoping none of her old crew was there, a few purple scales leaving a trail as she walks coming off of her, she didn't look behind at all as she walked by the shore of the Ocean.

Hearing the waves crash each step she took, the salty ocean giving her good memories of her past making her feel at home once again making her remember the boys in her seaside village make fun of her because she was a girl with a dream of being a pirate, they said she would only be sweeping the decks and making dinner as if she was a stay at home wife, she proved them wrong though... She became the second in command of a pirate ship right next to the captain being one of the feared.

But it all went away with greed, Sybil knew she did the right thing by taking the treasured gold of theres, if she didn't she would have been nothing more than a petty girl on a boat with 30 men aboard. Maybe she should have stayed in disguise for longer maybe it would have been best if she didn't tell a friend of hers she was a woman, mean the old crew she once knew and befriended was either dead and shot straight in the head by the captain or thrown overboard into the sea chained up to die.

Sybil is the last one left... the survivor of the once remained crew there once was back 4 years ago.

The young once pirate girl thought all this in that head of hers as she walked by the shore of the ocean, then her mind came back from space hearing a bell and people nearby, she looks and smiles seeing the great West Narvid filled with people...
