Blood red fog lingered over dead, dry trees, all of which were rotten to their core and the aroma of blood covered the area. Diane and Gabriella looked around the area as a brown blood soaked he-wolf with dark brown paws and black and green eyes came up to them. "Any news, WoodTooth?" Diane asked him. "Why, yes, I do have news to share." He replied. "And I think you're going to like it."

Gabriella: "Go ahead and tell us."

WoodTooth: "You're not going to believe me at first when I say this, but Amanda, Maria, and the rest of the Spirit Runners have already decided on who the other eight Protectors of the Forest are."

Diane: "Oh, have they?"

WoodTooth: "Yes, in fact they have. I manage to sneak into the Spirit Runners and leave without getting caught and I heard the entire conversation with my own two ears."

Gabriella: "And just who are the second eight Protctors?"

WoodTooth: "Well, that's the best part."
...
The second eight Protectors of the Forest posses eight abilities: Solar Manipulation, Cryokinesis, Aerokinesis, Pyrokinesis, Combat Manipulation, Hyperacusis, Hydrokinesis, and Enhanced Tracking. But it takes a while for the Spirits to decide on who are the second eight until an animal is chosen and is proven ready to take on this ability and responsibility at best. And protect us from our enemies. All enemies can lurk anywhere, whether they are alive or not.

And just who are the second eight Protectors of the Seventh Generation?

Well, friend, this is the story.
...
As he rested, Chief ArrowHeart moved around felt restless and could not sleep. Then, he opened his eyes and found himself in a familiar place-the Vision Realm. Then, Chief CrimsonPelt appeared in front him. "Hello, Chief ArrowHeart," he began, "I have a prophecy."

A prophecy. This was not the first time that Chief ArrowHeart heard the word, Prophecy, in his lifetime; it was common for him to hear by this point. And so he listened. "Eight young animals who the same blood our destined for great things beyond their world."

Eight young animals who the same blood our destined for great things beyond their world. This was not the first time Chief ArrowHeart heard of this prophecy-he had heard many times before ever since the day he became leader of the Forest Spirits Division prior to Chief CrimsonPelt's death. "Eight animals who share your blood." He continued. My blood? Does he mean my sons and daughters are destined to become the next eight Protectors?

"That is all, my former apprentice." Chief CrimsonPelt continued, "Enemies still lurk in the forest and even underground."

Even underground? Chief ArrowHeart had never heard about this before. Enemies always lurked on the surface. Was this different.

"Thank you for letting me know, Chief CrimsonPelt." He replied after he finished. "I'll keep it in mind."

"I know you will." Chief CrimsonPelt told him, vanishing before him, leaving him alone.

When Chief ArrowHeart woke up, he kept all of these prophecies in mind, knowing that they all meant something; something important.
