1. Video calls and coffee chats

A/n pov-

It was 8:45 am for her and 6:45pm for her bffs. Dhara, isha and arvya( her bffs since her 5th standard ) were waiting for her to join the google meet. They always had one every weekend, they may have grown up but their frndship was still sprouting.

She quickly put up her waist length black hair with red ends in a bun with a pencil laying around and logged into the meet with her just woken up face.
It was their usual, seeing nila brush her teeth as dhara was talking abt her latest encounter with a guy her mother set her up with. This was followed with aru and isha saying that they deserve more money for the efforts they put in their work ( they were both gynacs in the same hospital ). As this discussion came to an end, nila would be done with her brushing and join the convo.

This time, there was a change in their call, aru was silent while isha was going on and on abt her senior. Nila knew aru as her own blood sister and expected that she had some bad news to share.

Nila to everyone in the meet ," oye, oye, one second, aru what happened why are u staring at the screen lyk it stole ur 1st born?"  Dhara," dude so true, u didnt even comment on how this guy was not as amazing as harsh when i said he looked a little like him."  Isha," Ha, yesterday also u left early, what happened?"

Arvya spoke after they all stopped giving their won versions of what was wrong with her, " So, u guys know how my family got to know about harsh the month before, yesterday dad and mom called me home to say that harsh met with them a few days ago anddddd may or may not have begged them to give him a chance to prove himself. I dont know what he did or how he did this butttttt my parents said that they gave it a lot of thought these few days and they approved harsh for me, they said that we should married as soons as possible cause why delay good things."

Arvya was on the screen plastered with the biggest smile u can imagine of and nila stopped mid sentence to process what just happened. Isha yelled," Bitch, we work in the same hospital and u didnt even mention a word."
Dhara said," Godddd, no one says a word of this to my mother till i say so and aruu, honnnnn, omgg, congratssss." Nila said, " umm guys i already knew, i mean who do u think helped harsh plan everything."

Dhara said to aru ," yeah, even i knew it i helped harsh get reservations at that restaurant ur mom loves."
Isha said," why do u think u had no work and were able to leave early?"
Arvya just sat there with so much anger that they hid everything from her and happiness that her frnds would do anything and everything for her.

They ended their meet after a lil bit of teasing aru abt her wedding and nila made a call to aru's dad

Nila's pov-

Their was the ringing noise of facetime on her ipad as she was making her coffee. Aru's dad picked up the call and nila said, " Hi nana, aru chepindi indake ok anar antaga, mari engagement eppud anukuntaru "
(Hi dad, arvya told us a few moments ago that u said ok, so when are u thinking of holding the engagement. Nana means dad in telugu)

As he was abt to answer his wife entered the vc and said,"Hi nilaamma, appude lechava, aru ki pelli fix aindi mari eppud ostunav nuvu?"
( Hi nila, u woke up already, aru's wedding has been fixed so when are u gonna be here?)
I said," Ha amma miru date chepte nenu book cheskunta flight tickets oka 2 weeks mundu ki ala."
( Ha mom i will book my plane tickets 2 weeks prior to the date the wedding will be )
Deepti, aru's mom held her palm up and said," enti 2 weeks munda, chelli pelli ki 2 weeks mundu ostara atleast 2 months mundu nuv ikkada undali."
( what did u say 2 weeks? Who comes 2 weeks prior to their younger sister's wedding, u have to be atleast 2 months prior here.)
I laughed and so did aarav, aru's dad on hearing mom's warning.

Arvya's parents deepti and aarav may not be my biological parents but they always acted like they were, since that one incident when we were in 10th standard.

After a lot of gossip and a few scoldings from deepti amma ( amma means mother in telugu ) to both nana and me, the call ended and they said that they would meet the pandit next week with harsh's parents and settle on engagement and wedding dates.
