Ch28 Towards The Red Lights

Rui gets sick and has a death scare but does get better fast. Slight mentioning of Rui's terrible past. Mentioning of the red light district but it WILL REMAIN SFW!!! ABSOLUTELY SFW!!! The sky was close to him. The trees were below him but they were approaching faster and faster and FASTER. And there was no way for him to stop it! There wasn't anything to latch onto, no safety webs, and no one else to hold his hand and stop his tumbling and twisting and turning. No sounds but the wind in his ears and no feelings but the panic in his heart. 

He was going to die.

But...he just got a mother. He finally got someone else to notice him...HIM-him. Not 'his father's heir' him. And as soon as those trees get close enough- That's it. No more stories. No more hugs. No more family. No more mother. ...No more anything. He couldn't regenerate from the damage this big of a fall would cause. His weak body could barely heal a cut within an hour. He would die before he even knew what happened. Why wasn't he born with a stronger body? If he was so special then why was he suffering so much? Why was everyone after him just to inflict pain? It wasn't his fault. All he ever wanted...All he ever asked for..Was someone to take notice ..And tell him that-

A pale hand reached out to the moon getting smaller and smaller.

That everything would be ok-

A pale grey wrapped itself around that wrist and YANKED!!  He found himself suddenly pulled against someone black as night. A powerful arm pushing painfully against him pressing him further into something black breathing heavily.

Kaigaku breathed fast and heavily. His pupils shrank to the size of pin pricks. FUCK!! THIS WASN'T GOOD!! There wouldn't be anything that he could do to soften the blow for them but to try and put himself between them and the ground. He could survive. He's survived much work with Kokushibo's training, but he was sure they couldn't.  SHIT!! His body wasn't big enough to shield them both! It wasn't big enough to shield them from most of the damage either! They were going to die..SHE WAS GOING TO DIE AND HE COULDN'T STOP IT-

He shut his eyes. Arms pulling the two figures against his body tightly against the heavily breathing chest bracing himself for the worst. 

CRASH!!

The first branch hit harder than he expected. He felt his spine give and all the air escaped from him.

CRASH CRASH BANG CRUNCH THUD TAP

Branch after branch hit him all at once, pain exploded in ways he never felt before in his life, but the branches wouldn't be any help to stop  them. To save them. The ground wouldn't be as forgiving as the branches. It was fast approaching now!! A sob escaped his mouth pushing his face further into her warmth as the ground approached faster-
