Night (Joe)

Joe woke up with a headache. It was  only 4:45 a.m. He looked at Cherry. 'Kaoru's lips look so soft' he thought. 'Oh....I think I know why I'm thinking these things now' he had realised.

He'd never really felt this way about any of the girls he was into. 'Do I like him? No I couldn't like Kaoru, he's a guy and I've never liked dudes before....but that doesn't mean I can't  like guys right?'

Then he realised how he was holding Cherry. He had his arm wrapped around Cherry's waist. His face turned red.

'OH MY GOD HOW DID THIS HAPPEN' He didn't move though, he stayed where he was. He thought 'If I move I might disturb Kaoru's sleep' (of course we all know this was a lie).

He decided he might as well make the most of what he had and just full on cuddle with Cherry since he'd probably wake up first anyway so he figured he'd just move before Cherry woke up.

He had pretty much come to terms with the fact that he liked Cherry by now. Come to think of it, he'd always liked Cherry. Ever since they were teenagers.

He remembered that day, near the food truck, after Adam had left for America. Cherry went to go get some food. That day was going so well and he was having so much fun with Cherry. Until those guys showed up.

Cherry had been gone for a while and Joe was staring to get worried. 'I should probably go check up on him' he thought. He left the skate park and made his way to the food truck down the street.

He saw a group of people. He couldn't really see any of their faces since it was dark and they were all close together. Then he saw it. The pink hair. 'It's Kaoru!' He thought. 'He's in trouble, I have to help him!'

He ran towards the group. He heard the guy holding Cherry say "This is what you get for messing with me and making Adam leave us!"He had jumped in front of Cherry just in time to push the guy out of the way.

"Leave him alone! We had no part in Adam leaving. It was his decision you prick!" He grabbed Cherry's board and punched the guy, then pushed him to the floor. The gang ran away and Joe turned around to see Cherry beaten and bloody.

He felt his stomach drop. "Kaoru are you okay?!" He said panicked. He scrambled trying to stop the bleeding coming from his nose. 'He looks dazed, he must be in shock' he thought. "Ya....thanks".

He felt so protective of Cherry. He didn't want anything bad to happen to him. He realised he'd always felt this way. When he ran to Cherry after his race with Adam, when they were getting attacked by those mud monsters (head cannon for episode six). He'd always thought he was cute too. Like that time on the beach when Miya pretended to be his kid and said Cherry was his mom. It all kind of made sense actually. 'Wow' he thought 'I have a crush on Kaoru'
