The new house in the Heffley's street -that had been built for about 18 months- was finally done being built. It didnt fit into the neighbourhood it was built from stone, not that poor drywall material, there was a cute lawn with flowers and kind of picnic table. the door was made from thick wood and through the front window you could look into the green-painted wood made kitchen but what you couldnt see was the big livingroom connected to the kitchen and the 3 bedrooms in the house from which two were actually of usage, the third one was a guest room. There was a big office with two computers and a couch, there was also a big bathroom with a rain shower and a big sink with a giant mirror.

"You'll like the house." he started. we both went quiet for the whole ride, and now he started talking... wow... "i desinged it myself." his voice is so fragile, were is his confidence. "i know you like my style" i don't. i hate his style, he connects modern and cottage style as if it was the perfect match. He really is an idiot. "Y-" "Shut it Vincent! father is dead, and all you are doing is leaving everything behind he's built and start it all over" he seemed stunned at my response. "C'mon, you wanted to talk, talk." my heart was racing. our father died 18 months ago, his heart finally gave in and thus I'm happy that the two of us are finaly rid of him but his way of showing his relief is more than inapropriat. "Y/N, I'm sorry. But father, he was a monster, and now that i am the new owner of Black-orp... i have to focus on someting else than his death and mourning, which i won't. i cant even understand how you're that sad about it." he rolled his eyes at me leaning into the next curv. "Vincent, I'm not sad. but your behaviour is inapropriat, don't act like i don't know. The company is on the line. if we don't produce anything new, we're down." as my voice got more serious, he got anxious. "I always knew that you were to smart for me..." he couldn't keep a chuckle in, after what he said. atleast one thing we could agree on. I am smarter than him. "Are we finally there yet?" i said laughing to lean the conversation into another direction. It wasn't a real laugh, which Vincent obviously knew, but he realized what i was trying to do.

"There we are!" I looked around, on the outside it seemed like a cute cottage core house and the table on the lawn gave it the perfect finish. Even though... as soon as we went inside it was what I feared he did, a weird mix between modern tech culture and cottagecore cozyness. "It was nice at the beginning..." I stated, he hopefully knew what I meant. He probably didn't. "You wanna see the room I made for you?" my eyes wided by what he said. He made a room, just for me? "Wait... my own room?" He laughed "Father may didnt care enough to give you the space a child would need, but I'm not him and I actually like you sister." my heart broke a little after he said that last part. I knew he was right. Father never loved me neither did he like me but I was just a child... "you can go alone if you're more comfortable with that. downstairs, the green painted door on the left." I ran downstairs looking for the green door, as I saw it my heart raced. I slowly grabbed the doorhandle and pushed it down.

Her room was more than she could have imagined. Her bed stood on a kind of plattform and was coverd with a tranparent/LED shining curtain and fake ivy tendrills. There was a giant bookshelf filled with Lovecraft, Poe, Wilde etc. Books. And those with custom designed bookcovers. There was her bass guitare and a speaker for it but also a big desk made from wood. "Y- oh... you still looking around?" she turned around, facing her brother. She stormed onto him and hugged him. "Thank you." she let go of him and straightend herself. "this will never happen again. be happy with the hug." she turned her back towards the bed and jumped onto it. "I just wanted say that our stuff arived. you can unpack your stuff now. get everything the way you want it and also... if you dont like the bedsheets we can get other ones, that you'd like more." she didnt wanna believe what he said. Who was that man and what did he do to her brother. that guy was nice, did all that loving stuff for her and not arguing with her about her hobby or say weird shit. "I know you're not used to this kind of stuff. Father didn't care, but I care for you sister. We are the only family we have left." he smiled while saying that. "oh and, I got you into a new school. Your old one was.. a bit to far away, don't you think?" she laughed anxiously. "A privat school near this place. It's a good school and well, not in europe." he smiled at her and her eyes widend. "I don't have to go back?" the shaking of his head made her nearly cry out of joy. "You stay here. I know, european education is better, but i wanna keep you here and after high school you can go to -I don't know- Oxford or some shit and study just like you want to." he grinned looking at her "I know you wanna hug me. Don't. The hug two minutes ago was more than enough." she nodded resting her head on her pillow.
