Once upon a time there was a magical town called Mystic Falls, Virginia. In 1864, two original vampires named Elocin and Evelyn got revenge by killing Katherine, and now they are settled down in the town, present day.

The story all starts when Elocin and Evelyn are sitting in class for the 50 millionth time. Since they are stuck at 17 years of age, they attend high school every once in awhile. Snow is falling, creating little ice crystals on the edge of the windows.

“How do I not understand any of this? How many times have we had this class?” Elocin glares at the  math homework.

“Well, since 1007 and minus that from 2013,” Evelyn looks at her calculator, “We’ve taken Algebra 1006 times.”

“Are you that STUPID? We don't take this class every year!”

“Yes, I am. Why do you think I’m taking this class again?” Evelyn’s gum falls out of her mouth.

“Nice one...” Elocin rolls her eyes and turns back to her paper with an annoyed look.

Evelyn looks back at the teacher, “I could really bite someone right now. I haven’t had blood all day.”

“Know how you feel. My last meal was that scrawny pizza delivery guy, he didn't fill me up at ALL.”

“Be grateful,” Evelyn scowls. “I had a squirrel because the hospital was low on blood bags. And we were out of coffee this morning! And with the snow, I can feel ice in my blood.”

“That’s your fault. You could always live like I do! Quit talking about blood, you're making me hungry.”

“Excuse me,” Evelyn glares. “I hate killing humans.”

“But animal blood is SO nasty! And the blood bags just don't give you the full effect, I love the warm fuzziness you get when you drink from the vein.” Elocin bites her lip and closed her eyes thinking about the blood.

Evelyn tenses up, “Now you’re making me hungry.”

“I say we skip last class and catch a snack! You in?”

“I don’t know,” Evelyn shrugs. “I don’t want to kill.”

“Come on! Live a little!” Elocin giggles at her joke.

“Fine,” she gives in and nods.

“Yay! Now if only this class would end already,” She starts biting her nails and stares at the clock.

“Work some of your compulsion and get the teacher to let us out of here early,” Evelyn whispers.

“I'm on it!” Elocin gets up and walks over to the teacher. You can see her eyes dilate and the teacher shooing her off. “Lets go,” she says as she grabs Evelyn by the arm and drags her out of the room. She practically trips because of her shoes. They make their way through the small town.

“Geesh!” Evelyn stumbles behind. “ You weren’t kidding when you said you were hungry!”

Elocin licks her lips and looks around, “Who do I want to eat...? Hmmm.”

“Be careful,” Evelyn looks around nervously. “You shouldn’t hunt in public like this.”

“Well I do! If you don't like it, nobody is stopping you from going and eating your little bunnies,” Elocin glares at Evelyn challenging her to make the right decision.

“Whatever,” Evelyn snaps back and starts to walk away. “I’m heading for the woods.”

The sisters make their way to the edge of town, near the county line. Trees line up next to the road, and the sisters start to cross the street. The two are getting hungrier by the minute.

“Tell you what... I’ll try and hunt the way you do, if you try and hunt the way I do. Deal?” Elocin asks, her eyes challenging.

“Fine,” Evelyn huffs. “Who do I have to kill?”

“Ooh, he looks yummy!” She nods in the direction of a boy crossing the street.

Evelyn looks at Elocin, “You’re on.” She runs and stops in front of the boy before compelling him to not be afraid, then digs her fangs into the side of his neck.

“Go get ‘em tiger!” Elocin shouts at her.

“There,” Evelyn stands up and throws the boy’s body to the ground, her veins around her eyes going back to normal and her fangs retreating. “Happy?”

“Not really... Lets go get some stupid bunnies,” She rolls her eyes and turns around.

“I was pretty happy with it,” a voice comes from the woods.

Elocin spins around and eyes the two guys suspiciously, “What the hell are you doing here? This is our town.”

“Well, well,” Evelyn wipes her bloodied mouth. “Never thought I’d run into the Salvatore brothers.”

“We could say the same,” Damon says eyeing the two of them like zoo animals.

Stefan steps beside Damon, “I always thought the Rawland sisters were a legend.”

“A lot of legends are real you know,” Elocin remarks.

Evelyn kick’s the boy’s body to the side before coming up and stepping next to Elocin, “What are you two doing here?”

“Visiting. Is that okay with you?” Damon asks sarcastically.

“No, it’s not!” Elocin says glaring at him. “This is our town!”

Evelyn steps in front of Damon, her fists tensing at her sides, “I would get out of here if I were you. And take this brother of yours with you. We don’t want trouble.”

“Sorry to break it to ya sweetheart, but as much as you might wish you were, you’re not me.” He winks at the Rawland sisters with a small smile forming at his lips, “I’m willing to share”.

“Well as you just pointed out, we’re not you! And we are definitely not sharing our town! Right Evelyn?” Elocin looks to her for confirmation.

Evelyn’s lips are pressed together as she steps away from Damon and glances at Stefan. “Like I said, we don’t want trouble. Now leave before you get yourself hurt. We are older by the way.”

“We don’t want trouble either,” Stefan speaks up with his hands in his pockets. “We just want to stay here for a while.”

“You’re lying,” Evelyn glares over at him. “Why are you here? Vampires don’t just settle down for nothing.”

“We’re here to protect a girl,” Stefan looks in her eyes. “She’s in danger, we’re here to help. Has nothing to do with you.”

Elocin looks at him and winks, “I’m a girl who gets in lots of danger... wanna protect me?” Then she bursts into a fit of giggles.

“Why would you want to protect a human?” Evelyn crosses her arms and eyes the brothers with a sly look.

Elocin recovers from her laughing fit and joins her sister in questioning the brothers. “Yeah, what would you two want with a human other than its blood?” She raises her eyebrows and crosses her arms.

“We don't want anything from her.We just want... her.” Damon answers in a small voice.

Elocin starts laughing again. “Both of you? I say we let them stay, they'll end up killing each other anyways. And right now I just want blood.”

“Fine,” Evelyn uncrosses her arms. “They can stay.” Before looking at Elocin, she grabs Damon’s arm and locks it behind his back, “And next time, don’t be such a smart ass.”

“You know you like it!” Damon retorts while chuckling.

“I know I do,” Elocin says quickly before running off into the woods to get a snack while giggling.

Evelyn looks back, knowing she has to catch up. With one last glare, she looks at the brothers. “And if you as much as turn the girl, I’ll kill her myself before coming for you.” She then turns and runs after Elocin.
