September 21, 2010Jooheon wasn't surprised to see her walk away without saying anything. He didn't care about that woman, anyways. As he zoned out at the school gate, his thoughts shifted over to his school life. He was really going back there again.
He found it interesting that he could easily accept that it was another person's body he was in than admit that person was his mother. That kind of switching-bodies-thing was supposed to be fantasy, right?
Jooheon walked through the gate at last, and as he walked towards the door, he remembered something he forgot.
He had no idea where his classes were.
After thinking about it for a short while, Jooheon decided that he would skip school. He didn't know where his classes were, there was too much going through his mind right now, and nothing was stopping him. He turned around and heard a voice call out to him.
"Hey kid! I saw your mom bring you to school, and you still think that you'll be able to skip!?" some old guy yelled across the entrance of the school to him.
Jooheon looked back, and immediately turned around. He started walking towards the guy. Next, he sat his bag down, got on his hands, and faced his punishment with annoyance. The man distributing the pain was taken aback, but happy, because Jooheon obeyed him so easily.
"I haven't seen you here before, so it doesn't seem like you're a repeat offender like these guys." The old man was referring to the three other dudes who were on their hands next to Jooheon. "Don't end up here again, okay? What's your name and grade?"
"My name is Lee Jooheon, sir. Grade 10." Jooheon answered.
"Ahh, so you're a freshman! This is most likely your first time here. I'll let you off with a pass, you can go now. Just make sure I won't see you late anymore." the old man winked.
Jooheon got up and smiled. He heartily thanked the man, since he would get off without any demerit-points. Who knows what would happen if they ended up on his record?
"What! Why didn't you..."
"I did that on your first time as well. I do that with everyone. Fight with me and you will stay here longer."
"But..!"
He grabbed his bag and ignored the bickering between the discipline man and those students on the ground. It no longer concerned him. What did concern him was what class he was supposed to go to. All he had to figure out was which class he was in right now, and throughout the day he would just follow the rest of his classmates to where they were going.
'I wonder why that man didn't mention my hair though. I guess my eye color could pass...but my hair is definitely a no, isn't it?' Jooheon wondered as he glided his fingers through his bangs with red streaks.
He rung the buzzer to get inside the school and the door was unlocked. Instead of going straight to the school hallways, though, he entered the office to receive a copy of his classes. He was a bit peeved since this was a lot of work, but once he enters his classroom, he could finally unpack everything that he had been thinking about.
He saw a lady who immediately gave him a dirty look as soon as she saw his face. He thought that was weird. Shouldn't school staff be fair to students? He blew it off, because it didn't matter and he needed something from her.
"Is there anything I can help you with?" she said sarcastically.
Jooheon simply ignored her tone. She was probably one of those women who hated her job, and pushed her anger onto High School kids.
