“My water’s broke, San! We need to go to the hospital! Now!”

“Oh shit,” San cried, “my parents aren’t gonna be here for another hour, we’re just gonna have to hold on.”

“You fucking try holding on while a baby is coming out your vagina!” you shouted, gripping onto your husband’s arm as you whined through the pain.

“I know,” he sighed, “I’m so sorry.”

“Can’t the kids just go to one of the boys’?!” you cried, tears now appearing in your eyes, “San, I’m in so much pain, I need something.”

“I’m gonna get you there so fast,” San whispered, his forehead resting against yours, “is this one over?”

You nodded, taking deep breaths.

“Hana, it’s over,” San called, your eldest son walking back into the room, sheepishly.

“It’s okay, Mama,” he spoke, kissing your cheek as you sat down on the bed.

“Thank you, baby,” you smiled, “I’m sorry if I’m scaring you. It’s just that I’m in a lot of pain.”

Hana nodded, putting his small hand on your rounded belly, “you have to get the baby out!”

You smiled, nodding, “exactly.”

“Mummy!” Wook shouted, running into your bedroom.

“My baby!” you gasped, watching as San scooped your youngest son into his arms, “I’m so sorry, baby.”

“Mummy, does it hurt?”

“Only a little bit,” you smiled, “everything’s okay! Mummy’s okay! See?”

Wook nodded, running back out to Hae and Bok, Hana quickly doing the same, just as another contraction came over.

“Daddy, can we name the baby after me?” Hae asked, walking into the room.

“No, me!” Bok exclaimed, running in after him.

“Boys, go and play with Hana,” San said as he rubbed your back soothingly.

“Okay,” Hae pouted.

“Mummy, fighting!” Bok exclaimed, grabbing his brother’s hand as they ran back out.

“He’s mad,” you laughed, still panting through your contraction.

“Mingi’s free,” San exclaimed, “Song Mingi! You are useful!”

“He’s on his way?!” you gasped, San nodding as he thanked his friend.

“Let’s get ready to go, he only lives round the corner,” San said.

“We n–need the– the bags,” you panted.

“They’re by the front door. Do you think you can walk?”

“Hold on.”

You cried out in pain as the contraction passed, San helping you up and out the room.

“Boys! Uncle Mingi’s coming round until Grandma and Grandpa get here!” San announced, helping you down the stairs.

“But why can’t we wait for Nana and Granpy?” Wook pouted.

“Because baby’s coming now!” you smiled, “Wook-ie, be good for your brothers and Uncle Mingi, okay?”

“And for Grandma and Grandpa!” San exclaimed as he opened the door, letting Mingi and his two sons in, “Y/N, you ready?”

“One minute!” you called, giving all your sons one last hug and kiss before following after San, “let’s go have a fifth son.”

San laughed, helping you into the car, “you’ve got no hope, have you?”

“Nope. Gave up after the fourth.”

“Okay, Mrs Choi! One last push!” the midwife exclaimed.

Screaming out as you gave the last push, you felt a rush of relief and the cries of a newborn baby filled the room.

“Y/N,” San breathed, his eyes filled with tears as he leaned down and kissed your head, “Y/N, my beautiful girl, you did it. Thank you, thank you so much.”

“Congratulations, Mr, Mrs Choi! You’ve got a little girl!” the nurse announced.

“What?!” you laughed, you and San looking at each other incredulously.

“She– a girl?! A daughter?!” San exclaimed.

“Here, Mr Choi, would you like to hold her?” the nurse offered, San watching as a team of nurses busied themselves, weighing and measuring his new child: his daughter.

“Yes,” San nodded, the first tears spilling from his eyes as he was finally handed the wrap of blankets, in the middle laying his tiny, tiny, beautiful girl, “Y/N, look, that’s your daughter! A girl!”

You laughed, tears spilling from your own eyes as you watched San cuddle her close, “that’s our daughter.”

San laughed, looking in disbelief, almost as if the baby in his arms appeared from nowhere, and was about to disappear at any second, “the boys are going to be so surprised. Oh, gosh. Hello, baby! Y/N, look how beautiful she is!”
