Juliette arrived home after the rain had eased a bit, allowing her to get home, with a little ease.
She was welcomed by her fluffy, black cat, Midnight, who walked wherever she went and meowed here and there.
Her home was just a small townhouse, fitting enough for one. There was chaos in her house, with books and papers all over the place. Empty tea cups and clothes made their residence everywhere.
And..
A half eaten cupcake was left on the small dining table since early morning. And it was now evening time.
She tossed it into the trash and pulled her curtains away to bring in any light remaining. She opened her windows and was greeted by fresh wind and felt rain mist on her skin.
She took up the paper she received by the kind gentleman earlier again and thought on it. She decided that she'd give it to him the next day.
The weather forecast predicted a little sunshine the next day, so no more bathing in the rain.
Good.

The following day, Juliette was awoken by the telephone ringing.
The sound echoed throughout the house quite loudly. Juliette woke up, slowly, allowing her eyes to adjust to the light.
She looked at a nearby clock and exclaimed to herself-
"Eight thirty!".
She jumped out of bed and quickly went to the telephone, knowing exactly, who the caller would be.
"Mrs. Douglas! Pleasant morning to you!".
Her landlord.
The payment had been overdue three days, so it was no surprise to expect a call from the landlord.
She had promised to make the payment that exact day before eight o' clock, since Mrs. Douglas had somewhere to be after eight thirty.
"Ms. Sutton, you were to make the payment from earlier", Mrs. Douglas said.
Her strong sounding voice, felt intimidating to Juliette.
Though the lady was on the phone, her voice made her seem she was in the house.
However, Mrs. Douglas had proved to be an understanding lady with good principles and morals. However, she despised laziness, irresponsibility and a person who never keeps their oaths or promises.
"I am deeply sorry Mrs. Douglas, I-I overslept", Juliette stammered.
She could hear the lady sigh heavily on the other side and feared for the worst.
However...
"Alright. But this time, Ms. Sutton, I will be more strict, I will expect the payment in seven days- a week of course- if you fail to do that, you will have to find elsewhere to go", she said, clearly emphasizing the latter.
"Oh, thank you Mrs. Douglas, I will not fail you!", Juliette said, grateful for extra time.
The conversation ended.
Juliette was not really working. She used to work at a café but got fired because she was always daydreaming and zoning out during her shifts.
She did well in school, but couldn't move on to university, due to her mother's illness and lack of funds.
However, she loved writing. She went many places to see if she could be of use, where wditjng was concerned.
A journalist, an editor, anything!
However, that day when it was raining, she was rejected from ten places, due to her not having the 'experience' and not studying at university.
It pained ber heart and all felt hopeless...
...Until that man, Mr. River Harrison, came along.
She remembered her mission to return the coat and got ready and soon left to Bryden University to return his property.
