THE PORTAL TO NOWHERE

2 boys and a cat.

"Today is the day I turn 13!" exclaimed Agares right when he woke up , his hair was a mess and turns out it was only 6 AM when the boy woke up. Sadly he didn't have to wake up that early because it was his summer vacation. "I wonder what I can do today , I need to get out more." Agares thought to himself. Then his alarm rang, "AUGH!" the boy screamed , he forgot to get rid of his alarm for school.
The boy still got up to get ready because he decided to go to the library to look at some books about magic because he just found an interest in magic. Who goes to a library at 6 AM on summer break? A lot of people.
When Agares finally finished getting ready he left , like any normal person would , "Wait.. I just turned 13, how will I get there quicker than walking?" Agares questioned "RUNNING!" , then Agares ran all the way to the library.
Clearly out of breath , the boy breathed heavily when he got to the library. "Why would I do that?" Agares asked himself. Then he went inside the library and looked for books about magic and portals. A few minutes later he found the section and looked through the books on each shelf "Portals all over the word?" Agares mumbled under his breath "seems interesting , i guess i'm getting this one" he said then he stood up and went to check out the book from the library.

"Is this all for you today sir?" asked the lady at the desk
"Yes.. thanks for asking though?" Agares said confused as the lady scanned his.. One , singular book. After the lady was done scanning the book Agares grabbed it and left "Lets see.. New mexico.. New York wait.. my city?" Agares said as he looked at the page "It's just hidden in the mountains , I could probably check it out!" After Agares said that he stood up and started walking to the mountain range. "I bet it's fake , but I have nothing better to do so.." thought Agares continuing to walk to the mountain range.
             "Now that I think about it , why does my city have a mountain in it?" Thought Agares. "FINALLY, i'm at the mountain range!" Agares said happily "now.. To find the portal itself," During the search for the portal Agares couldn't see much but then he saw a red eerie glow coming from a small cave , even though it was faint but he could still see it "Wow I wonder if it's in there," he said sarcastically then he walked towards the cave "AH IT'S ALL COVERED IN VINES!" he exclaimed then started moving them aside , after he moved some aside he looked inside of the cave and saw a portal , the portal was red and there were plants and demon-like horns around it "... do i just go in it?" he asked himself he then started walking towards it and it looked like a puddle , where he could see the other side , demons and weird animal creatures were everywhere "haha. I'm going it that seems cool" Agares said while chuckling After some time had clearly passed he fell flat onto the ground of the other side of the portal , seeing a sign that said terbiance , as he read the sign he suspected it was the new world he was in. reaching into his pocket to see if his phone was there , he started getting worried but then realized he was checking the wrong pocket so he checked the other , it was there and he calmed down. After his mini panic attack he saw something that resembled a cat but had feathers on around its paws and on the tip of its ears and tail , also having horns on its head , out of the blue it looked him right in the eye and the eyes of the cat thing were purple and bloodshot red. "Creepy.. " he said , mostly referring to the red eye "but cool" as he said that he stuck his hand out and the cat like creature came to him , instead of purring it made a growling sound which he guessed was its form of purring (he was right) and after a few minutes he stood up and started walking , the cat like thing following "i wonder if i can keep you" he says to the cat thing"I should make you a collar huh?" he asked the cat thing , the cat thing yipped in agreement. "Alright let's look for stuff to make it out , uhm.. I don't know what to call you yet" he says to the cat thing , again "i think i'll call you Sheba" , The cat yipped to the name so Agares assumed it liked the name. "Okay Sheba let's make you a collar with this rouge rope i found," Agares said , putting his hand out for the cat thing to come to and when Sheba came he tied it around its neck , making sure it wasn't too tight but not loose enough for it to slip it off. After tying it around its neck they started walking more until they found a village type area with a big castle in the middle of it "cool" Agares said staring at the big castle
         "MONSTER!" a person said to his right , so Agares looked to his right and saw a demon pointing at him with others gathering around him and some looked amazed , some looked terrified so Agares picked up Sheba and walked past the crowd , after picking Sheba up some of the demons gasped and some others just stayed silent , Agares didn't know that his new little cat thing was a monster to these demons , so without this knowledge he walked towards the castle.After a minute or two he put down Sheba because they were close to the castle and the castle had a long stone path to it , walking on the stone path made Agares tired because of its length , finally he and Sheba reached the door of the castle and Agares knocked on the door and in almost an instant , a boy the looked almost his age with tan skin and brown hair with white tips at the end of it in a long braid , and almost the coolest clothes Agares has ever seen , the boy had vibrant pink eyes and an ombre of red and black on his horns."Woah." Agares said
"Hello? What do you need? I don't have all day now." The boy said to Agares
"OH , uhm I just need some points because I just came through a portal and don't know anything about this world and I can't tell time because the sky is BRIGHT RED." Agares explained dramatically to the boy in front of him
"Oh , and I see you've tamed a Feathered phantom cat , how did you do it and what's its name? I've been studying them for school and i need help , please come in i can't afford to fail again" Agares walked into the castle along with Sheba right behind him wanting to help the boy with his project because he also needed to learn about the breed of this cat , as soon as he sat down somewhere with the boy he started telling him how he tamed Sheba and that he also didn't know anything about them. "Do you need help identifying the gender? Well if you do it's really simple , its identified by the purring sound , if it sounds like normal purring its a female and if it sounds more like growling its a male , there's other ways but these cats are hard to pick up" The boy said
"So Sheba is a male?" Agares questioned
"I guess , but have you found out how to pick him up" The boy asked
"Yea , i just pick him up like a normal cat from back home" Agares says as he picks up Sheba and shows how simple it is to pick them up
"Oh and I never got your name , what is it?" the boy asked
"My name is Agares , you?" Agares asked the boy
"I'm Rysuie , I'm a prince here in terbiance and for some reason I still go to a really normal school," he said sarcastically . Rysuie thought about something for a second "Can you come to school with me tomorrow to help me present your feathered phantom?" Rysuie asked
"Of course i can" Agares said , while playing with Sheba
Rysuie stared at how much Agares and Sheba got along. "Didn't that boy state he just got here , aren't Feathered phantoms meant to be very hard to train?" He thought then continued to stare at Agares , while looking at him he noticed his features better than when he was at the castle door , Agares' hair was almost white , but it was blonde and his eyes were a bright blue , and he was wearing a hoodie and jeans and he had a certain book always near him , it was something about portals. "Well Agares , it's getting late and I suspect you don't have anywhere to go?" Rysuie said in a teasing way
"No , i don't" Agares said seriously after catching his teasing tone
"Well i can ask my parents if you can stay until you go back home , because the portal you came from is one sided" Rysuie said trying not to laugh at Agares
"WHAT? IT WAS?" Agares exclaimed "But yea i wouldn't mind staying here after learning that"
After hearing his response Rysuie walked away to ask his parents if Agares could stay for the time being until they found a new portal for him. While Rysuie was gone Sheba rubbed on Agares , marking Agares as his territory , Agares didn't know what Sheba was doing though and just assumed he was being affectionate to him and just scratched between his ears. Then Rysuie appeared again
"You seriously didn't move an inch? Well lucky you my parents said you can stay as long as you help me with school because they dont want me to fail and they said you seem smart?" Rysuie said to Agares
"Ohh yay" Agares said "Can you help me tell time here though because of the sky's color?"
"Sure , well the sky is always red but it turns more blue at night so it's more purple at night than in the day" Rysuie said
 "Oh okay thanks" Agares said , while yawning
"HAHA YOU'RE TIRED ALREADY?" Rysuie burst out laughing , before Agares got the chance to respond Sheba hissed and tried to attack Rysuie for laughing at Agares "AH" rysuie screamed before jumping up into the air and floating there , Sheba hissed before going back to Agares and jumping onto his lap. "AGARES YOUR CAT IS SO MEAN!" he shouted while Agares laughed at him for being scared of Sheba
"Okay anyways i'm tired so like i beg of you to tell me where i'll be chillin' for now" Agares said to Rysuie
"Fine , follow me but don't let your cat attack me anymore!" Rysuie exclaimed
Agares sighed, "Yes sir" , as Agares followed Rysuie he kept almost falling over the most random things which he couldn't see because he was so tired , after a minute or three Rysuie finally noticed this issue.
"Are you okay? you keep falling or something" Rysuie asked while sounding actually worried for Agares "Yep. just really tired" Agares said rubbing his eyes and struggling to keep them open
"You have issues. But anyways we're here just go in and get some rest or something , i'll wake you up when we have to go" Rysuie said , still seeming worried. Without saying a word Agares opened the door and shut it to go to sleep Sheba close behind.
After a minute of making sure Agares didn't fall inside of the room he walked away , seeming tired himself he walked to his room and changed into something more comfortable for sleeping , "sometimes i forget demons have tails," He thought to himself before going to sleep
Waking up with knocking on his door Rysuie took a minute to wake up but then he slowly got up and started putting on the horrible school uniform that actually let his tail show. Weird times. After he got ready he went to where Agares was to see if he was up yet by knocking on his door
Agares soon opened the door , looking the same as when Rysuie first saw him with Sheba right next to him. "Come on we gotta go" Rysuie said as he started to walk to the entrance of the castle , Agares and Sheba not far behind.
After they got out of the castle the two started walking to Rysuies school with Sheba on Agares' shoulders , just not wanting to walk like any normal cat in any world. After Agares got a bunch of stares while next to the heir of Terbiance with a feathered phantom and his shoulder and being from another world they finally made it to the school that was medium size , seeming easy to get around. Rysuie walked to his first class with Agares and Sheba not far behind him , as always.
When they got to the classroom Rysuie's class looked at Sheba then at Agares and kept doing that until Rysuie said a word. "This is Agares and Sheba , Agares is the human and Sheba is the cat , one is from this world one is not , it'll make sense later" He said as he went to his seat , Agares trying to hold in laughter (He laughs when things are awkward) . Just standing beside where Rysuie sat. After what felt like forever school was finally over and Agares rushed out of there as fast as he could , not running, just speed walking. "What are you in a rush for?" Rysuie asked him
"I need to know more about this place so i'm just going to explore for a bit and probably see you soon," Agares said to Rysuie
"It's not safe for somebody like you to go alone , I'm coming with you but first we need some stuff if it's going to be a few days , come on" Rysuie said because he didn't want to keep going to school , he really didn't like it.
"Okay you go get your stuff and i'll be waiting here because i don't know how my way around" Agares said
