"We're on the way," Emberlyn replied, her voice filled with determination. She shot a glance at Keagan, a spark of excitement in her eyes. "Are you ready?"

Keagan nodded eagerly, adrenaline coursing through his veins. They dashed through the city streets with lightning speed, their footsteps echoing in sync. Keagan was surprised at the speed he was moving in, he had never experienced such a rush. He was shocked at how he could keep up with Emberyn who slithered and catapulted herself across rails and roofs. Sector 7 was just a stone's throw away, and anticipation built up within them as they approached their destination.

Emberlyn led the way, her movements fluid and confident. She navigated the urban landscape effortlessly, her lithe figure a testament to her combat training. Keagan couldn't help but be awestruck by her prowess. This was someone who had been honed for battle.

As they turned a corner into a quiet neighborhood, their eyes fell upon a figure perched on a rooftop. He stood tall, arms crossed, a dark mask obscuring most of his face except for a pair of eyes burning with anger. exuded an aura of mystery and menace. Clad in a sleek, black suit that hugged his form, he appeared both elegant and deadly. The mask he wore concealed his face, leaving only his piercing eyes visible. Behind those eyes, a glimmer of malice shone through. His movements were graceful yet calculated as if every action had been meticulously planned. A sense of power radiated from him as if he commanded forces beyond the physical realm.

Keagan's instincts immediately kicked in, sensing the danger that emanated from the masked man. Without hesitation, he positioned himself protectively in front of Emberlyn, his stance ready for action. As time went on, it became an instinct he was compelled to cultivate, having been repeatedly subjected to the vicious cycle of drug-fueled aggression. His younger brother, vulnerable and in need of protection, had often been caught in the crossfire of their tormenting stepfather's wrath so it was Keagan who would bear the brunt of it. Emberlyn keenly observed the subtle gesture, perceiving it as an assertion of dominance over her. However, she quickly dismissed such notions. Being safeguarded by a novice was far from an unfamiliar scenario for her. With a gentle push on his shoulder, she conveyed her assurance that she was more than capable of handling herself. Keagan, as if attuned to her thoughts, nodded in agreement and gracefully retreated, respecting her independence.

The man exuded an intimidating aura, his tall and muscular frame adorned in a black suit interlaced with intricate metallic armor. His face hidden behind the mask, he exuded a chilling presence that sent shivers down their spines. Even from a distance, he radiated power and menace.

With a resounding thud, the man descended from the rooftop, his landing shaking the ground beneath them. His eyes bore into Keagan and Emberlyn, a savage sneer curling his lips. "This is my territory," he snarled, his voice dripping with the promise of violence. "Leave now, or face the consequences of crossing into my domain."

Keagan and Emberlyn exchanged glances, a mixture of unease and determination passing between them. Keagan took a step forward, his voice steady but tinged with defiance. "We're not backing down," he declared, meeting the masked man's gaze head-on.

A flicker of surprise crossed the masked man's face, his anger momentarily faltering. His voice turned icy, and his narrowed eyes fixated on Keagan. "You're a fool," he spat, his words laced with disdain.

"The rest of the squad is arriving," Emberlyn whispered to Keagan, her voice filled with assurance. "We need to be prepared."

Keagan nodded, his eyes never leaving the masked man's gaze. "Don't worry," he responded, his tone brimming with confidence.

Just as Keagan was poised to make his first move, the system suddenly jolted back to life, bombarding him with an incessant beeping sound. It felt as if the sound was directed solely at him, and he alone could perceive it.
