* August's POV *

It was the beginning of my senior year. I walked through the crowd of people & met with my niggas by our lockers.
Xavier: Wassup bruh?
August: What up wit cha?
I said giving him & the others dap.
Corey: You seen some of the fresh meat walking round this motherfucker?
I laughed at his question while he eyed every freshman walking by.
Rakeem: These bitches built like grown women. I gots to have me one.
He said smiling at every one that walked by. Paris walked up to me.
Paris: Hey August.
She said while grabbing on my hand. Paris was my ex girlfriend. We had been together since our freshman year on & off.
August: Sup?
I said looking over her trying not to pay her any attention.
Paris: You missed me?
The bell rung & everyone started to scatter around for class.
August: Gotta get to class.
I made my way into my biology class & sat down next to Xavier.
Xavier: Bruh, I heard this teacher was fine.
August: Let's see then my nigga.
Our teacher, Miss Watkins walked in. She had skin the color of cocoa, brown long hair, & wore a black dress that covered up just enough.
August: She fine!
Xavier: Hell yeah.
He said smiling & nodding along with me.
Miss Watkins: Hello, welcome to 12th grade Biology.
She said smiling at everyone.
Miss Watkins: I'll like for Chanelle Hopkins to introduce herself. She's new.
A girl about 5'4 stood up with hair shoulder length & brown. Wearing a long black skirt, flats, & white collared shirt. You could tell she was shy by the way she stood & held her notebook against her chest.
Chanelle: I'm Chanelle.
She said waving while a few others laughed at how uneasy she was.
Miss Watkins: Where you from?
Chanelle: Chicago.
Miss Watkins: Wow. I went there for a trip once.
Chanelle gave a half smirk & sat back down.
Miss Watkins: You all try your best to make Chanelle's year a great one. Now, I need you all to do this warm up on the board for me.

* Chanelle's POV *

I looked down at my schedule trying to figure out my next class.. Chemistry. Getting lost in the crowd, I was pushed down on the floor & my books, papers went all across the floor.
Paris: Watch where you going!
A girl yelled at me & one of the boys from biology class stopped & helped me pick my stuff up.
Chanelle: I got it.
August: You the girl from my biology class ain't cha?
I nodded at him. He picked up the papers while I snatched them away.
Chanelle: I got it, thanks anyway.
August: You write these? These songs?
I finished stacking the papers up back into my arms.
Paris: August!
He handed me my notebook & smiled before walking away to the other girl.
