Y/N POV:

I sighed. Locking the door, I started walking. However, I didn't have a specific location planned to head towards. My thoughts were jumbled and being in my home wasn't helping either. The sky was a covered with clouds and the sun was nowhere in sight.

Pacing myself, I felt helpless. There were too many problems in my life right now. I'm in my second last year of high school currently, and my parents are constantly telling me off for not getting good grades. I hate school and the work we have to do. Why do we get so much of it? All I want to do in the future is relax and sit around, reading manga and playing video games.

That's not the only problem. My younger sister has big dreams. She says she wants to become an idol when she grows up, and talks about it constantly. My parents don't like this. The first time she brought it up to my parents, they scolded and yelled at her, telling her she had to get a proper job that made a lot of money, like a doctor or a lawyer. Ever since then, she hasn't spoken openly about it again, but I know that she probably still hasn't given up. Why can't my parents just let us do what we want? It's like they are constantly trying to suppress us. I hate being around my home. There's too much pressure and expectations.

After pacing around for a bit, I felt a bit better. I walked for quite some time, so I checked my surroundings to see where I was. Spotting a huge tree from quite some distance away, I realized I was near my local park. When I was younger, I would head there every day after school. Times were much more happier and carefree back then.

When I got to the park, I took a glance around. It was mostly empty since it was nearly evening anyway. There was one person I noticed, and she was sitting on the swings, unmoving. Her hair was black, and she was wearing a school uniform that I didn't recognize. However, the strangest thing I noticed was how gloomy she looked. Her face was expressionless and she was blankly staring at the ground.

I must of gotten lost in thought, because when I suddenly realized I had been staring at her the whole time, she was looking back at me with an odd expression on her face. I cringed at myself as I made a mental note not to space out while looking at people again. Deciding it would be weird to just walk away at this point, I decided to walk towards her.

Y/N: "Hey. Sorry for staring at you, I sort of blanked out after seeing you."
Girl: "That's alright."

There was a bit of awkward silence between us two until I finally spoke up again.

Y/N: "I couldn't help but notice how depressed you look. Is everything okay?"
Girl: "You were looking pretty sad yourself you know? ..."
Y/N: "Oh... Uhhhh... It's nothing to worry about."
Girl: "Is that so? Good to know."

This girl was kind of cold. My lack of social skills wasn't helping either. Deciding we weren't getting anywhere, I decided to try and get to know her.

Y/N: "What's your name?"
Girl: "Sorry, I don't give my name to strangers. Ah... It's getting quite dark. I should be heading home now. Goodbye."

She got up and started to walk away. There goes my pride and confidence... I started walking home a few minutes later too. For some reason, I felt a lot better.

The Next Day

I decided to head to the park today as well after school ended. It was a long day, and I was pretty tired already. Upon arriving at the park, I saw the girl once again. Remembering what happened yesterday, I tried to turn around and walk the other way before she spotted me.
