"Jim!" Claire yelled, banging on the bathroom door with tears in her eyes. "Jimbo!" Toby wasn't much better off. So many people were panicking and banging on the bathroom door, yelling at Jim not to do it. To someone who doesn't know what's going on, this probably looked like a very different scene. But honestly, it wasn't much different than how it looked. Jim was basically killing himself, killing his human side and embracing his troll side, throwing away his entire life.
Barabara was crying, even Strickler was panicky and upset. Jim sighed, tears in his beautiful blue eyes. He let one slip as he looked towards the dark liquid in the tub, ignoring his family's screams as he went to step into it. But just then, a bright blue light shone, blinding him before he blacked out.
Jim woke up sprawled out on a plain white floor, his armor gone. He jumped up, searching his pockets for his amulet thankfully finding it in his right pocket and quickly summoning his armor back. He looked around, brandishing his sword, before his eyes landed on Claire, Toby, Blinky and Aaarrgh all laid out on the floor just a few feet to his left.
He ran to them, calling for them to wake up. They stirred, eventually waking up. "Jim!" Claire yelled as she ran to him, a mix of sadness, anger, and relief written on her face. "What were you thinking, Jim!? Why would you do that!? We're supposed to be a team, we're supposed to do things together!" Claire was too preoccupied with reprimanding Jim for his stupidity to care much for their current predicament.
Toby ran towards them, his face wearing a similar expression to Claire's. "Jimbo, what the heck!? Why did you try to turn yourself into a troll!? You promised that we would always do things together, why did you try to do this all on your own!?" Both teens were angry at Jim, who was about to try to calm his girlfriend and best friend, but was interrupted by a stern looking Blinky.
"As much as I agree with you both, we are in a bit of a bad situation here. We should focus on attempting to figure out where we are. But we will be finishing this conversation later on, Master Jim." Jim gulped, not liking the disappointed tone that Blinky had used.
They all gathered themselves and began to look around, taking in their surroundings. It was a large room, with rows and rows of comfy looking chairs and small tables. At the front of the room was a very large screen that was currently blank. It looked like a movie theater, except that everything was empty and white, and there were no doors.
"I'm gonna try to break through the wall, see where we are." Jim suggested, moving towards the left wall. ¨Ya, me too.¨ Toby said, pulling out his warhammer and moving towards the back wall. Claire sighed and pulled out her shadow staff.
"Stop you brutes, I can just make a portal out of here, remember?" The boys looked sheepish. She tried to make a portal, but not even a small one came out. "What the-?" Claire shook the staff, as if that would get it working. Just then, a voice came from behind her.
"Sorry, can't have you using your powers in here." Everyone turned to look at the new occupant, only to find a young looking girl in a sweatshirt with a weird glow coming from her. "Who are you!?" Jim yelled, dragging Claire to stand closer to him and Toby.
The girl smiled. "Just call me author. Sorry for all this, I know it must be confusing. Could you please let me properly explain?" The girl spoke in a polite voice. The 3 humans and 2 trolls looked at eachother, then nodded to the being. She smiled again. "Great! Alrighty then, first things first, I promise that I have no intention of harming you, so you can relax."
None of them seemed to be calmed by this, still skeptical of the girl. "I brought you all here to watch things about your lives." The girl stated. "Whatever do you mean by that?" Blinky questioned. "I mean, I have the power to show you your lives on that screen. Not every second of them, but the most important parts from when Jim found the amulet up until just before I brought you here, and even the future beyond that. Along with the five of you, I'll also be bringing in some other people you know, but fair warning, they won't be from the same timeline as you."
