Toboe's POV
"Come on runt," Tsume barked at me as we climbed to the top of the hill. I snorted in protest.
"I'm not a runt!" I whined. Tsume laughed.
"Sure, keep thinking like that," he said as he scanned the area below us. I whimpered as I noticed how high up we were. If Tsume or I fell off, we would both..... I ended the thought quickly, and looked up to Tsume as I waited for the next set of instructions.
"Lets go, Kiba will want to know what we found," Tsume told me, turning around and changing into his wolf form. I nodded, and turned as well.
"And what did we find exactly?" I asked as we loped down the hill, my bracelets jangling. Tsume laughed harshly.
"Nothing that will help us, nothing at all," he said. When we got to the base of the hill, we paused for a minute and I caught my breath. Tsume watched as I checked my bracelets were in place, and he then stiffened.
"Tsume.... what's wrong?" I asked. He growled at me.
"Get behind me runt!" I did as he asked, moving behind his silvery body. Then I smelt it... the smell of something.... something I didn't know.... something I had never smelt before. I felt Tsume tense, but then he relaxed and slumped to the ground.
"Tsume!" I yipped, and I bit his ear gently. "Tsume!" I threw back my head and howled.
Kiba's POV
"Hige, do you hear Toboe?" I asked Hige. He looked up from his plate of food.
"Yeah I do." He began to eat once more. I changed.
"Someone must be in trouble! Come on!" I ran out of our shelter and towards the howling sound.
