Epilogue- Rose
As my friends and I were getting ready to hang out on the streets collecting candy (we believe that we're too old to call it 'trick-or-treating) at Taylor's (my best friend) house, her mom stepped into Taylor's doorway and said
"Taylor! It's time for the Halloween story!" She singed-songed

"Mom!" Taylor cried "I'm too old for that!"

"But we do it every year!" Ms. Fields sounded a little hurt.

"Remember that one year when I told you that story about those spiders?" She laughed "You were so scared that you didn't go trick-or-treating!"

"Mom!" Taylor said through gritted teeth. "Please not in front of my friends!"

Ms.Fields sighed, nodded, said ok and then began to walk out but I stopped her and said,
"I think I could use a little scare," everyone hesitated and then started to nod in agreement. I grinned and turned to Taylor. Taylor frowned, smiled and then said,
"Ok mom, for old time's sake." Ms. Fields' eyes lit up and then took a deep breath, ready to begin but then the new girl said,
"Wait! Ms. Fields, could we have some of your famous brownies?" Pearl asked batting her fake eyelashes (she was a spider queen and Taylor would not sit next to her).

"Sure! I'll... be right back." Ms. Fields said sounding a little annoyed, got up, nodded and then walked away. Everyone turned to face the spider queen who was looking at her stomach and rubbing it. Once she realized that there was a awkward silence she looked up.

"Ok, first of all I came to this house un-prepared and second Ms.Fields is like my other mom because Taylor is like my bestie because I just like moved here and she was like the first one to say hi-"
Taylor had rolled her eyes at that part
"-and like Taylor even says that I'm her best friend, like isn't that right Taylor?" Everyone turned to the hostess.
"Yeah, sure."
she replied and right after she said that, she turned to me and mouthed,
"Nooo." I smiled and wondered how she could be in such a good mood after her dad divorced with her mom because he loved a rich un-pretty bratt (from what Taylor told me). Then I heard footsteps coming up the stairs.

"I brought brownies and milk for everyone," Ms. Fields let out a great big sigh and smiled weakly. Once everyone got their snack, Ms. Fields joined us on the floor and began,"On one unusual Halloween night..."
...................................................................................................................................................................................................
"OMG, Taylor, we have to tell our mom to make up a better story, am I right? That story was a snooze fest, am I right?" (guess who) Pearl complained

"Yup, you're always right!" My best friend the black cat said even annoyed than ever, OMG, no you're NOT! She mouthed to me I laughed but she was too annoyed to laugh back and we held out our bags to get the candy from the werewolf which was our last house."I personally think that the story was interesting," I put in and then all of the girls nodded.
The spider queen simply shrugged and flipped her blonde hair and spun back around. I grinned at Taylor and she grinned back. Thank you. She mouthed to me. No problem I mouthed back. The rest of us walked down the stairs and started to walk back to Taylor's house for a ghoul sleepover but then our whole crew stopped in our tracks
"OMG, guys look at that house over there," said the leader of the group Pearl pointed a purple manicured finger at the scariest house in the neighborhood
"At least those people know how to decorate for Halloween, am I right?" No one said anything. The house looked just like the house that Ms. Fields was describing in the story.
"Don't tell me you're all afraid of the house..are you?" Pearl said with a slight laugh. "Huh," she said when no one answered "I double-dare for Taylor to go up to that house and ring the doorbell... If there is one."
Lily, one of my friends started to open her mouth in protest but then the spider queen said, "And Taylor, you get like one thousand dollars."
She said and whipped out the cash from her cross-body purse. Everyone gawked at her.
"Why do you look so surprised? This is only two days worth of allowance, am I right?" No I thought. After they broke out of their trance from staring at the money, the chanting started "Taylor, Taylor, Taylor, Tayor, TAYLOR! TAYLOR! TAYLOR!" I looked at the black cat's face and sheepishly smiled. Her face turned whiter than usual. She took a deep, shaky breath and then walked up to the sidewalk. I started to feel bad for her. I wouldn't want to do that if I were her.
"Taylor!" I called and grabbed her arm, took a deep breath and said, "I'll go." She didn't protest and her color returned to her face and she nodded. Then the Taylor chant turned into the Rose chant.
Once I hit the doorstep I looked back to see the girls chanting and Pearl grinning from ear to ear. I took a deep breath and knocked. No answer. I was about to knock again when the door cracked open and a old woman's voice said, "Accept it, ACCEPT IT!" I immediately turned on my heel and ran. I didn't want that old women's candy! It must have been over fifty years old!
So I ran back but I didn't get that far because I bumped into something. I stood up and then felt around to see what was there. I felt a large robe and when I was making my way to the top of the thing, something caught my hand. "Put it on," said a man's voice, "It looks good with your ruby fairy costume." And then he or it disappeared. With my heart pounding, I walked back to my friends who had stopped the chant. Then I realized that I had an object in my same hand that the figure grabbed me.
I opened my palm and saw a cute ruby necklace. It does go with my costume. I thought so I put it on.
"Do I get the money?" I asked Pearl hopefully. "Not unless you answer this question...and say yes. Can I have that necklace?" Pearl asked. I laughed a little because I didn't want her to have after what I've been through and this necklace was really pretty.
"But it doesn't match your costume." I prompted.
"So? I don't care I want it and it's mine now," she announced and stuck out her palm. So I started to fiddle with the chain, to find the clasp but then I started to realize that the ground was getting farther and the sky was closer. I took a step forward but I realized that I didn't touch the ground. I looked down. Sure enough, my friends ( well most of my friends) were staring up at me. I started to hyperventilate. It's just a dream, it's just a dream. I told myself. Calm down. To my surprise, I actually did calm down until I started dancing like a drunkard against my will. I screamed and the mob of girls ran away screaming, sweeping my best friend with them. "Help!" I shrieked "HELP
