As the Earth does its rotation about its axis, it bright light shines again yet another day upon a small town in Connecticut. A small town called Bonesborough. The young Blight dreaded to waking up but she had to. She had school in which was compulsory for her to attend.
Letting out a groan she didn't want to get up. She wanted to stay home bedridden. Sitting up on her bed, she felt the soft, fluffy carpet underneath her foot. Taking a few minutes to let her eyes adjust to her dim room—which the curtains allowed in very little light—as she got up and went in the bathroom to take a shower.
Turning on the shower to let the cold water turn into a minimum temperature of heat as she squeezed out some toothpaste onto her toothbrush then
proceeded to brush her teeth. By the time she was done with this, the bathroom mirror was a bit fogged by the warm water that started pouring in the shower. Stripping her clothes off she walked into the shower, feeling the water rain on her—it felt nice to say the least. She stood there under the pouring water with nothing on her mind. After a few minutes she started to lather her hair with shampoo then using body wash for her body. Rinsing the soap suds off then using conditioner.
Finishing her shower, she walked out with a towel wrapped around her still dripping wet. Drying herself she puts on her uniform then blow drying her hair. Brushing it and tying it in a half-up-half-down style showing her auburn roots, she does a bit of make up—enough to cover up the eye bags. Putting on plain white socks as she finished.
Slinging her bag on her shoulder she walks out of her room. The outside of her room was bright due to the large chandelier hanging in the middle of the main room. Going down the stairs she walked into the kitchen where she was met with her mother sitting down across the long dining table writing down some documents and drinking some kind of black substance which was probably coffee.
"Good morning, mittens," she spoke without even looking up. Her tone was as cold as usual. "Good morning mother." She didn't question where anyone else was or what her mother was doing. It has always been like this for the past two years. Quiet, and distant from anyone in the place. If her siblings were here they would tease her about things or bully her. She missed those moments. The moments were the place wasn't all so cold. Now where are they? Busy partying late nights and coming home the next morning and getting yelled at by their mother. Now most of the time, they would stay with either their lovers' or partners' house.
She placed her bag on the chair and sat on it waiting for breakfast to be served. About a minute, two men came in wearing the same uniform. One was holding platter of what seemed like pancakes and the other was holding a tray with a cup and a teapot. Placing them down in front of the girl. The one with the teapot poured what seemed like tea into the cup and placed the teapot to the side. They bowed and walked off back into the kitchen. She quietly but quickly ate her food and said she would be taking her leave for school to her mother as she finished. Of course her mother wouldn't say anything but nod.
Arriving at school, she walked to her locker and put her things in and take out the necessary items she needed. That's when she heard a group of people laughing and talking coming up to her.
"Amity hey."
She turned around and gave the girl who had her pink hair in a bun, a smile. "Hello Boscha. Can I help you?" Behind her was two other girls. Skara and Bo. "Well, me and the girls were planning to hang out after school. You in?" She asked. Boscha, wasn't really a good friend but she also isn't a bad friend. She might have an attitude with people but she still has a good heart. She just have an unusual way of showing it. But, she has a bad habit of always going out partying and drinking.
She thought about it, she didn't have anything to do in the afternoon other than be at home and study so she agreed. "I'm in." Boscha's face lit up even more. "Great so we're going to the beach then eat then oh yeah we also plan to go to the club maybe you'll finally find some hottie or cuties there," she said. "I told you. I have no time for liking someone." Boscha just rolled her eyes.
